If you run Crota's end on normal and then hard...
... is it possible to get raid armor drop on normal, then run it again on hard and get another raid armor from the same checkpoint? I am trying to get the chest piece and I already did the lamps and bridge on normal. Can I get an armor drop on hard or is it just the raid weapons/engery/shards?

Yes. I keep doing both to get the black hammer. Did hard today got another helmet.

Normal then hard is the best chance at getting the chest piece then. Normal only drops chest/boots/shards/energy so the normal loot table will be out of those. Hard loot table even though it is 2x the loot has a bigger loot table. Some sort of weapons i forgot which one from the bridge. So the even though its double loot there is less chance per roll to get the chest. Took me 3 months to get the chest on my warlock doing normal then hard every week. Good luck to you mate.

So on Crota, you have a double chance of getting whatever he can drop on Hard, you can't get Normal mode drops from him on hard. It does not work like the VoG. Just some further clarification, the example mentioned above is for the Crota fight only. For the Maze and the bridge, you can get still get armour pieces on hard, it just seems less likely than it is in normal mode. That should clear things up. Before anyone says I'm wrong, I've killed Crota on hard over 20 times as the Sword bearer and nobody has ever gotten anything other than a Primary weapon or an exotic weapon (no secondary or heavy weapons drop)." 7 RepliesIf you do normal and then hard you get 3 chances at an Exotic. 1 - easy mode Ir Yut checkpoint 2 - easy mode Crota boss checkpoint 3 - hard mode Crota boss checkpoint I have multiple times ended up with exotics back to back from doing the raid on normal to hard. I have 118+ completions. Have seen loads of people double up Exotic's on easy then hard.

I have been running the abyss and the bridge on normal and hard for the past number of weeks and haven't gotten jack, sometimes this game just hates you.

Yes but your chances on hard are not only less cuz you ran normal first but the guns for hard mode are in the loot pool now and make it even less of a chance.

Always do it on normal and then hard. You have a smaller pool to roll on in normal for a specific piece of loot from said section of the raid when compared to the bigger roll on more items for hard mode. You can run normal abyss and bridge and get the boots and chest.. then run it on hm and get the chest and boots again.

I normally do just the Crota end fight on Normal on 1-2 characters each week just to try to get my 3rd Black Hammer, so I can have one for each character, then I do full Raids on Hard. I may start doing the Crota end fight on Normal on all 3 characters just for the possibility of a double Exotic drop (one on Normal and one on Hard)

2 RepliesThe only thing you can get double would be a helmet from Crota, I also found you can get double exotics from Crota kill. Last week Normal Crota CP: Helmet Plan c Hard Crota CP, same character same week: Helmet Gjallahorn!!! I will never run hard without doing normal first since it doubles your chance at exotics

Crota himself is the only place a double roll does not happen. Ideally you just take a normal checkpoint. Run all three characters, then run three raids on hard.
