Best gun for taking down atheon?
I am not a fusion rifle fan but Murmur seemed to do some serious damage to Atheon.

PS when we finally did beat him it never ended. Nothing like finally finishing a Raid and then it glitches. I did still receive a reward (a new load screen image and energies Yay.)
edit: lots of good info in here thanks for the advice and the Super Good Advice. I will try it on the oracles since they return the ammo back to its mag, free kills (I guess no one uses praed revenge on the Oracles even though its special ability is oracle disruption).
I think my next round I will go with; Up for Any or Nitc (for supplicants) : LDR or Efrideets (I can get off so many more shots than IB and save an exotic spot) : SGA or Gjalla I know gjalla would work great on the Oracles too but I want see the Ammo get returned while I am killing Oracles with SGA. It would also save me from having to pop a synth.

Black hammer or Icebreaker. Don't listen to the fools who use rocket launchers. They make Atheon move around (harder for snipers to hit there mark) and they do a fraction of the damage per shot.

Typically I will use my Gjally.... does lots of damage and I can get the rockets fired quickly and then turn my attention to supplicants because so many people ignore them stacking up.

Considering the perk Black Hammer has ( 3 precision shots will automatically fill the mag) this also doesn't pull from your overall ammo pool so you can maintain constant fire at the crit point and do massive damage consistently. I was on a team with 3 people that had it including me and we got him I one pass. Took like....6 seconds. EASY MODE: [ON] OFF

1 ReplyUse the black hammer 5 of these shooting atheon could almost take him down in one run. Weapons of light bubble and a couple bh and IBs can take him to 1/4 in one good run.

2 RepliesMy VOG load out is Atheons Epilouge, IB, and HoC. A team with ICe Breakers can absolutely murder atheon in two passes, almost one if you have weapons of light, and everyone lands criticals.

If 1/2 the team does this with any 331 Rockets Atheon is down in 1 turn. Enjoy easy nub strat. Edit: This is assuming everyone has decent Discipline.

1 ReplyMy favourite Atheon loadout: Vision of Confluence (also acceptable is Atheon's Epilogue; Fatebringer takes too long on Oracles IMO) Icebreaker Corrective Measures (IMO most versitile heavy to use, Oracle Disruptor + VOID for Praetorian shield on Venus) Good thing about the loadout above is you will never lose a single piece of ammo ever. Wipe for hours on end and still have 300 rounds of Corrective Measures.

For a few reasons, less reloading on the oracles (for when my teammates suck), further distance and accuracy on the supplicants so I can clear them from both portals, and the lower recoil for distant supplicants or helping the relic carrier with the enemies through the portals. Icebreaker is great damage on atheon if your accurate and when the clip is empty I switch to corrective measure which tears into atheon, real good damage. Corrective measure is also great for the times your portal team falls behind and slows down on oracles, it shreds them and let's me "catch up". I avoid any sort of rockets because 99% of the time I do middle strategy and were inside the relic bubble, I feel jumping out and firing rockets is just too slow in comparison. Not the best dps for me, not to mention your reliant on heavy drops/packs. Also I have black hammer, but in my experience atheon moves just enough that I don't hit the three crits consistently and waste time reloading. I usually get 7-8 icebreaker shots easy, then whatever times remaining I use corrective measure.

Blackhammer or ice breaker. Anyone who is saying that he uses his gally is a total noob, or part of a elite fireteam who gets atheon down in 1 shield. Rockets make atheon move so its harder to precision shot him. So if you cant get him down in 1 shield, use sniper and precision shot him with WoL. Black hammer is best for this since u Dont have to reload if they keeping to hit those precision shots.
