If you have to ask then yes you probably are.
-
Best the raids 6 more times. Then you won't be a noob.
-
Yes, you always will be But research the game and dont act like you know everything about the game and dont make up lies

8 RepliesA post on a similar thread from OGPURPDIESEL sums it up...
Yes, you will always be. Not a bad thing until you start making ridiculous claims like you know everything about this game. Even if you've read about a lot of these...you still were not here for them. You were never around for: -the original loot cave -farming chest for relic iron and such for hours so you can upgrade a piece of armor. You could not buy these at one point in time...crazy right. -legendary engrams mainly gave you rare items -the great Atheon and Templar cheese era and how valuable warlocks were. -queens wrath -encountered Randall the vandal -the true struggle of reaching level 30. -xur actually sold engrams/heavy synth more often then he does now. -the list goes on This game is tailored to new players after the dlc, reaching 31 or 32 now of days is a lot easier then reaching 29 or 30 back then. For a lot of us veterans in the game, this latest dlc was a major smack in the face towards all of our hard work. That's why you hear newb/Christmas newb a lot. Many of us busted our asses for what we had and have now, just about all of my VOG gear I worked so hard for is useless. All you have to do is get to rank 3 or 4 in the vanguard after level 20, run VOG a couple times and some strikes and bam! Your level 31 You can still be a great player in this game even if you picked it up after Xmas. Just understand that many of us 1st day players are touchy about certain subjects. P.s. The vex mythoclast...Got it my first hard raid attempt. My buddies pushed Atheon and I didn't have to lift a finger. Gjallarhorn was my first exotic from week 1 and I had no idea what an exotic was or why it was yellow and not purple. Luck does not qualify you as "legend" in this game
With how easily and quickly people can get to 31 nowadays level doesn't really mean anything
-
Yeah. For many reasons. Mainly you got it on or after Christmas so therefore by default you=Christmas noob. Also. Level 30 a month later is a bit sluggish to overstep the Christmas noob plateau. But I'll say this, you're ahead of most Christmas noobs.
-
You will be til next christmas, no matter what you do unfortunately
-
Yep. Christmas noobs will always be christmas noobs.
-
-
No sir you are a vet. You have "experience" as the definition of veteran says you must have. And as you have leveled to 20 and above you have much experience

4 RepliesEdited by BEN141297: 2/2/2015 6:56:16 PMI got one of my characters from 1-30 in a week. No big deal. And 30-32 in the next week lol It's hard to detect a Christmas noob now anyway seeing as the majority are level 27+ with all legandery gear. When raiding it really does show though.
-
With the dlc you should've got to level30 in like 3 days.... Sorry. Still a noob.
-
The noobiest and you arrived on Christmas
-
Yes because you can reach level 30 just from npc gear alone, and you admitted to getting it on christams day lol. Before TBD dlc, we had to grind for weeks/months in VoG to reach level 30 thanks to stupid rng loot system.
-
Edited by Raksis The Great: 2/2/2015 6:47:46 PMYes, you will never know the pain of getting a green from a legendary engram, you have yet to do VoG, you just bought your way to 30. Others before you did VoG to get 30. You will forever be a Christmas noob. You have not felt the power Pocket Infinity before the patch. Now be silenced. I don't mean noob as an insult btw, I'm just saying that you will forever be a Xmas noob.
-
You still got it at Christmas. Whether you're a noob or not is down to how you play; not your level.

2 RepliesThis game is fun for a month and a half Then you realize its not a fun game, just endless grinding for a small chance to get good gear. (Not based off skill, but based off completely random drops) Then you make different class characters and it becomes kinda fun again. Then its a grind once again. A couple months later you play this game maybe twice a week just to do nightfalls and raids. Conclusion: who cares what level you are, who cares how good you are, this game just rewards players who can play the longest and the most often.

1 ReplyEdited by MurdiusMaximus: 2/2/2015 6:39:26 PMDid you endure TrollTarch? Did you shoot Thorn 1.0 before the patch? Did you have a chance to do the loot cave? How about using Bad JuJu 1.0 before the patch? Did you ever know the glory of Randall the Vandal? Did the "Forever 29" meme actually apply to you? What about actually knowing the "loops" on Earth, Mars, Venus and the Moon to farm mats? Or doing the Queen's Bounty missions so get fast, easy shards? If you got the game for Christmas you'll never know these "joys" of Destiny. Are you a Christmas Noob? Most definitely. Will you be forever? No. Next year the new wave of noobs will come and you will get a merciful promotion. But you still weren't there when the Darkness was at it's darkest. You never lined up with other brave guardians to execute legions of Fallen pouring out of caves. You never experienced the horror of having a legendary helmet engram turn into a green helmet for a class you don't even play. You never had to slog through the Vault of Glass never getting anything but shards. You will never know the pain because you got the game when things were starting to turn around. I feel like that old guy that says, "back in the day..." Sorry chief.
-
Erm yes you are a Christmas noob.. Nothing special about this.
-
1 ReplyUnless you know what it is like to have the cryptarch turning 95% of your purple engrams into blues, or worse.

Christmas noob shouldn't be an insult. I know it sounds like because it has noob on it but it was just a term we used for people that got Destiny for Christmas. So regardless what level you are or how far you've been, you're a Christmas noob. Sucks, I know. I prefer the term KinderGuardians. But being in February already, I feel as if the term should just be dropped. tl;dr - ignore the haters, just keep rollin'
-
Yes but don't be offended by it...some people will troll you for it but it's just rough watching someone reach 30 in a month...many of us grinded for months to even cap 28, 29, 30...mat acquisition ain't what it used to be.
-
Yes. When i got the game i got to level 20 in 2-3 days. Then the max without raidgear in around 2 weeks. You can easily get to 31 now with just vanguard gear and by level 28 you should have been able to find people to carry you through at least the first two parts of the raid on normal. Which gives you an increased chance of being 31. You don't have to no-life it to get to that point. But the game now compared to when it started it is much easier to get to 31 then it was for us to get to 27
-
You will forever be a Christmas noob because you didn't go through the struggles to become 30. You were able to buy your way to level 30. Back in my day purchaseable armor only got you to 29. You had to raid the vog a billion time to get to level 30. Now the game seems to give you exactly what you need in the crota raid to reach level 32. The new grind is radiant materials.
