Guaranteed Vex Mythoclast Method
So i've noticed a while back that whenever my team beat Atheon HM within 2 cycles, at least one person in our fireteam would get the Vex Mythoclast. Ever since we noticed this, we've made it a point to beat Atheon within 2 cycles and without fail, at least one Vex was awarded to a random member.
Just keep in mind, there is no way to guarentee who in your fireteam will get the Vex, that part is still random.
Before you reply saying that i'm wrong, go and try it. I have tried this every time i beat Atheon and without fail, someone on my fireteam was awarded the Vex.
Also, i play on Xbox and i have no idea if my theory works on Playstation. If any Playstation players would like to experiment and see if this theory holds true for both consoles, that would be superb.

Played before with all max ghorns... Killed faster than that and nobody got one. We have done it multiple times, hit and miss on the vexes

10 Replies1) beats Atheon 2-3 times in less than 2 cycles. 2) assumes his results in those 2-3 runs are representative of a trend and titles post with the word "guaranteed". Kids these days don't understand statistics or the concept of sample size.

I do agree but you can still get if you do 6 cycles i did a really bad run we couldnt get under controll and we mannaged to kill him after 6 and me an 2 others got vex

Just because you have fewer member that doesn't increase your chances of getting it. The drop percentage stays the same no matter what. Remember before the "baby bumpers" were added and you could push him off? Yeah that's how most people got it.

Done it within 2 ports, 4 players fireteam and noone got anything.. Just shards/timebreakers/ships and a guy got 2 epilogues again that was it..

I got the Mythoclast last week from Atheon hard killing him in 2 runs so maybe you have a point

Nonsense! We always beat Atheon in 2 runs, and plenty of times no one gets a Vex, I beat him in 3 runs the other day cuz 2 people died, and I got the Vex. Your theory is a nonsense unfortunately!

Read somewhere that when you kill Atheon turn around and run to a corner as far away from everyone else and guess what I got the vex fourth go. I have had 6 vex using this method and also got a double exotic drop suros and vex.

5 RepliesBungie has nerfed this gun so much it isn't even worth getting because it is garbage at pve and below average at pvp. If you get it, store it until they buff the hardest weapon to obtain in the entire game.

I can't remember the last time I took more than 2 cycles and I've been in plenty of lobbies that received no Vex'. RNG is RNG.

Sure there is, or at least, there's a way to single out who the person is who gets it. Have 2 characters, everyone beats it on the first. Then, only one person loads up their alt, and everyone beats him again. That way, only one person is getting rewards (since the other 5 characters already got rewards), and are that much more likely to get it (my friend's group did this for all 6 of them, 6 times in a row, worked every time). I've helped 4 people get it that way, and only one person had to try again, and they got it the second time we tried. Of course, that means you need to do it at least 7 times as a group, so someone should always have an alt character with the Atheon save so you don't have to do the whole raid over and over again. We did it back before the first push off method was patched, so it's been around for a while. We didn't do it in 2 cycles either, some times it took us tons of tries to push him off, but it almost always gave the one person getting rewards the vex (like I said, only one person had to try a second time, and they got it then).

Vex is pretty random in terms of obtaining. I have noticed though if you receive the vex once you'll always get it. I got my first vex on my 12th hard run followed by another one on 14 and then 15. I'm afraid to kill Atheon anymore cause i'll keep getting it.
