Been playing since week 1 and I saved enough Motes of Light to buy my first Exotic Item, an Engram. Turned out to be The Claws but is it worth upgrading? I'd like to free my exotic armor slot for The Heart of The Praxic Fire when Xür sells it

1 ReplyThe claws are legit if you use flame shield. That can seriously save your life in many situations. Or, with void walker on crota, double energy drain for regen. Also awesome.

8 RepliesDouble melee + double grenades = fun times. At least the Claws were properly advertised. Unlike the Starfire Protocol, which grants an extra Fusion Grenade, but doesn't stack with Gift of the Sun. I WAS PROMISED TRIPLE GRENADAS

Yes they are great. 2 melee smashes in radiance makes them pretty beast mode. That's 2 over shields of used in the correct time - I'm still waiting on heart of praxic since week one.

That DS2 reference though lol

1 ReplyPaired with Monte Carlo the Claws are pretty good.

2 RepliesI hate the term sunbros. To be honest I hate that the class is even called warlock. That being said, to answer your question I use the claws on my witch. They are great. Having the ability to constantly keep up a flame shield can keep you in the middle of the fight longer.

4 RepliesAlso, good luck getting Praxic Fire from Xur. I've been waiting on that since I started playing Destiny on week 3.
-
1 ReplyIf you spec for flame shield then they are indeed quite good.

4 RepliesWhat I don't understand. If you've been playing since week one how are you just now getting your first exotic..

3 RepliesFirst, food for thought. How do you use your Super? If you're running Fireborn and saving your Super so you can revive, then the Heart of Praxic Fire isn't a good choice for your exotic armor slot, as you won't be using it enough to make the choice worth it. If, on the other hand, you're using your Super to deal damage to either bosses or groups of enemies, then the Heart is a great choice. Not really relevant to the discussion at hand, I know, but worth considering. As for the Claws, they're solid. Scorch gets Knockback, Damage Res, or explosions on kill, if I remember correctly. The first two increase survivability (great if you're using your Super for revival), while the third deals AoE damage (helpful for taking out groups quickly). Having an extra charge further increases your survivability or damage. Overall, I'd say that the Claws are solid placeholders until you get the Heart (if you don't hoard your Super), or an excellent choice for your Exotic slot (if you do hoard it). In fact, if you do hoard your Super, I'd be hard-pressed to think of a better choice for your exotic armor slot.

1 ReplyI think they look badass & if you rely on the flame shield they can be a boon with the double charge.
-
7 RepliesThere not bad good melee status, I would use them mostly for quick melee and you get extra scorch and energy drain
-
3 RepliesI like it. I use either that or Praxic in crucible, depending on the map.
-
1 ReplyThey are really nice to get overwhelmed with in the Crota hard raid. But they are even better with the life steal perk in Voidwalker in the same situation.
-
1 ReplyIt's awesome with the flame shield. Especially in crucible. 2 melees to kill someone and you're back to full health again after that. It's great for multiple encounters.
-
3 RepliesHell yeah they are I've got em and I love them. If you've got em but they still need upgrading, go for it. It'll be worth while
-
1 ReplyAre infinishields good? I think so, pair them with Monte Carlo, and your life is complete
-
2 RepliesYes. Void fang or claws are the best.two grenades all the time is great and so is the extra melee strike. Any singer is beast in radiance as that's two melee hit kills with over shield
-
5 RepliesPraxic Fire mainly shines in PvE...it's less stellar if you play a lot of PvP. If I were a regular Crucible player, I'd make Claws part of my standard load out. Having two grenades (Gift of the Sun) AND two Scorch melee attacks will win you a LOT of close-quarters fights in the Crucible. Radiance that goes on forever...not so much. They're also good for hte first part of the Crota's End raid....or any other PvE situation where Warlocks are forced into a lot of close-in fighting. Definitely worth upgrading....especially if you have them already. It's always good to have options.

1 Replythey are very good depending on your playstyle and they fit both subclasses which is also an added benefit.
-
Claws of Ahamkara is a good Warlock exotic.
-
5 RepliesYeah pair the claws up with Monte Carlo. It's kinda fun.
-
3 RepliesI thought sunbros were Dark Souls covenant members hahah just a joke
-
Praise the sun!

1 ReplyI love them, mostly use when im tryying to finish the crucible melee bounty though. It is very useful to have an extra shield in your pocket even in pve, or the extra energy drain as a voidwalker can be really good cor survivability if using life steal
-
1 ReplyYes, two melees and two grenades is incredible for pvp
