There are a lot of sniper rifles that are way better thAn icebreaker.
Is regenerating ammo really that worth it?
:edit: by a lot i mean like 4 - thanks for the conversation by the way you all helped me through a longg day at work.

Well there's more stable snipers than icebreaker but if you want ammo whilst camping you need to bring icebreaker along to regenerate. Firefly is a lot different to the perk of icebreaker because icebreakers one makes enemies spontaneously combust and disappear no matter the health bar whereas firefly causes a lot of damage. But for it to work with icebreaker the enemies have to get caught in the flames of the combustion.

1 ReplyThere are some with better impact, range or reload. But the ammo regen? Yeah, that is pretty damn useful. Not even just for IB, I equip it to regen whatever secondary I happen to be using.

1 ReplyYes ... Icebreaker regens ammo for all special weapons. Example your using efrideet spear which is more dmg and more stable than ib, but your out of ammo. Equip ib when it hits 6 switch back for 12 shots of efrideet spear.

6 RepliesI have efrideets spear with field scout, find more ammo and firefly. Picking up one green ammo pretty much fills it and it hits as hard as black hammer with the explosions of icebreaker and less recoil plus doesn't take the exotic slot :)

4 RepliesI primarily run fusion rifles because I always use thunderlord, but whenever I'm running strike playlists it almost always comes out for 75% of strikes. Find a corner to hole up in, drop a weapons of light, and destroy bosses. Really only don't use it for omnigul since she's more agile and murmur/thunderlord is more decisive on her

1 ReplyNot the best sniper but best cheese tool and best utility. Just for any xmas noobs that arent aware.... if you let icebreaker charge fully you can switch it out to any secondary and have 1/2 max ammo capacity on your preferred gun. For the patience and time it gives 12 rounds. Icebreaker gets carried on all my toons its never in the vault. Prefer p&t , black hammer , praedeths revenge and efris spear (f scout firefly) for sniping. Hear ldr is very decent i got a god mode roll on one but was solar so had to shard it. Range stat seemed small though.

yep you can use icebreaker to regen ammo then skip to one of your other snipers

2 RepliesU must not have an icebreaker. It's pretty nice to regen ammo and not have to worry about running out or running in to danger to try and pick some up. I have gjallarhorn and icebreaker. 70% of the time I run icebreaker and hunger of crota. 30% of the time I run gjallarhorn and black hammer.

Ice breaker has saved me where no other sniper could.

I used to lean on icebreaker a lot. Then I got vex mythoclast. And then I got gjallahorn. And then I learned to use different sniper rifles.
