Why do people feel they are entitled to the same amount of support from a video game designer without having to pay for it? You are not going to get the level of support from a game like destiny since you don't have a monthly fee.
I payed 90$ for this game and 2 dlc. I expect it to work, and bungie should continue to work on the bugs. Weapons balancing, events, etc are all extra things that I don't expect unless I am paying for it.
Businesses want to make money, that's why they exist.
That being said, i think a 10$ a month subscription fee and increased support would make this game amazingly good and also get rid of the scrubs.
Let the crying begin!
Edit: exactly the replies I was expecting. People who want something for nothing. This is why we will never have a real mmo on console. You guys do understand that Xbox and psn fees don't go to bungie right? If you want better support you have to pay for it.
Edit 2: this is why the game would be so much better with a subscription, it would get rid of all the whiners. You guys refusing to pay for a subscription are the same guys whining that crota is too hard and that bungie should give you weapons. 15$ a month would be a price I would pay to thin out the herd and have a game with more content and updates.

Apparently, judging by your edit 2, you've never actually played WoW or other, similar sub-based game communities. They make this one look like a bunch of controlled, mature men and women, debating simple particle physics over fine whine and caviar. This aside, By the titans, you are both right, and wrong. We bought the game, and as you said, we expect working, functioning gaming material. Sometimes, by default, this requires patches, such as balancing, to prevent one person from exploiting something that was definitely not intended to work as well as, or the way, it was. Take for example the old blue ARs that were being used in crucible, that were outplaying nearly everything, especially, but not limited too, scout rifles, pulse rifles, and Exotic weapons. This required a nerf, because Blue is the third highest tier, it should not have been the go-to-best-tier-in-the-game tier. This is regardless of the point. You do have a point about the Events part. There was no previously agreed upon specifics that would have forced Bungie to make the events, and constantly do so. That being said, If there wasn't SOMETHING to liven up the game, everyone would play it for a while, then leave, only coming back for DLC and whatnot. Besides, Destiny wouldn't need a thrice-damned subscription, they made enough money to pay back Activision for its $500 million budget, and still have enough left over to buy a small island country and turn it into Merchandise Manufacturing Consultants

Bungie always have given good support. Its when the websitw got overhauled for destiny I feel sorry for all you newcomers who have to put up with all the idiots who came rushing in too. Regardless, you dont pay to use the website and its features but if you posted in help about it youd get help and from bungie employees too

1 ReplyUnlike games such as WoW, this franchise is not one giant continuous game that just adds DLC/real expansions. It is split up into multiple games lasting 2 years each. So that whole monthly fee thing is overkill since they are already getting enough money from DLC/a whole new release of another game. Not to mention the fact that they cut major content and left us with barely anything and are charging us for said cut content. Yet you think they should charge even MORE money on top of that? K. I guess if you like throwing your money away needlessly. Not to mention the fact that if they want customers to continue playing this game for another year, they have to work on this game overall, not just bugs like you mention. Essentially what you're saying is that once a game is released, no matter how unbalanced or ridiculous some of the features in that game are, they should remain that way unless we pay to get them fixed? Not only would your suggestion get rid of all the "whiners", as you asininely call them, it would get rid of most of the player base leaving ignorant fools like you (which might actually be a good thing to keep you morons isolated from the intelligent masses). Actually, disregard everything I said. I apologize you are completely right about everything. That being said, I have some amazing, super rare, fish that can breath under water!!! I'll sell 'em to you for real cheap as well. Waddya say?

The game has been out for roughly 5-6 months, and most people have already paid $80+ dollars for it. While not all of that money goes to Bungie, I would say that amount just about equals a monthly subscription fee.
-
Destiny isn't worth a subscription fee, and nothing would change if it had one.
-
Watch out,we got a sheep over here. Meeeeh, take my money activision even if you're a money grabbing corportion, meeeeeeh.

You are a -blam!-in idiot

You fail to realize that Destiny/Bungie has done something I haven't seen done before. They have properly attracted MMO Vets that love and expect and want the grind/monthly subscriptions who will play 1 game for a long time. But at the same time they have also attracted the casual teenage console players who stick around for what's hot and then move on. They hate the grind and don't understand why MMO's have subscriptions. These are the 2 groups that argue. One group wants the subscription and grind, the other absolutely despises it. You obviously fall into the first category. And are aiming your post at those who are in the latter category. That is also why the forums for this game no matter where they are, will always have this argument.

8 RepliesI really wish all of you people with money to burn on monthly fees and microtransactions would find something better to do with your money. Shit like that kills games. Not everyone has money to continuously burn to enjoy a game. Hell half of gamers probably arent even done with highschool. So lets cut out the scrubs right? You mean anyone who didnt get blessed with a 6 figure income to afford such frivolous expenditures? Or those of us who dont live in a double income house because we believe having a parent raise our child is better than them growing up at a sitter? How about those of us who took on a financial burden to support their family when hard times fell on them? Its bad enough dlcs have become so damn common. The last thing gaming needs is every -blam!-ing game to require a monthly subscription. Go play WoW and shove your monthly subscription up your pompous condescending ass.

3 RepliesWhat is FF: A Realm Reborn? Last I checked it was a proper MMO, on a console, but you had to pay monthly for it, and buy any expansions for it as well. Not all MMo's need subscriptions to get supported, just add micro transactions, allows games to be free while still getting money to support the game. Dust 514 was a free to play FPSMMO, was marketed as a FPSMMO, is completely free to play, with micro transactions that allows them to support the game. It is true that any console fees that you pay to play games online like XBL or PSPlus is not a subscription cost for any game itself, that is what you pay your console provider to let you play games online, it has nothing to do with the actual games them selves. Which is why PS4 owners without PSPlus can still play Destiny PvE aspects with out PSPlus.
-
Yes we do. Xbl and psn have monthly subscription fees. Destiny is merely riding sony and microsoft, not providing its own online connectivity. Furthermore, real mmos have dedicated servers that that fee helps cover, destiny is a p2p joke. Destiny not having a fee isnt some sort of plus, its to be expected. You might as well take this same bs line and use it to try to placate those who got that pos assassins creed unity game.

OP was kind enough to share a video of his family reunion with everyone

1 ReplyThe consistently planned/released DLC for the next 10 years is their subscription fee. DLC isn't really an option, they don't even care to hide it. I'm fine with it, but no, we don't need a monthly fee on top of that.
-
Yes let me pay 3 times to play it on a console( xbl/psn+ internet + a sub) vs (internet+a sub)2 on pc. May as well drop your wallet in the toilet and flush.
-
Don't excuse piss poor content, especially when non-subscription games do DLC better.
-
The monthly subscription fee model doesn't work any longer. Look at how many MMOs have become F2P.
-
6 Repliesplaystaton plus and the äquivalent in Xbox IS a monthly fee.. and guess where a part of the money goes?
-
I would never ever pay a subscription fee for this game it has no where near enough content if it did since release I wouldn't care. The way the game sits now if they added a fee then bye bye destiny. Also they made millions and millions and just disappointed everyone with the dlc.
-
2 RepliesI cant wait to check out elder scrolls online. No fee for that one. Id pay for a subscription but I would need a very good pitch from bungie to do so
-
I pay a tri-monthly fee for content already on the disc... If I have an opinion, I'll say it
-
Edited by BanAlleGirls: 1/31/2015 7:18:11 PMLet me just throw that out there. We paid for this game, we expect them to deliver a product that we were told it was going to be. If you are fine with paying your cash for crap that is your deal. For the rest of the consumers, we want our money to be spent on something of value. So get off your high horse, I bet your mother bought the game for you anyway.
-
4 Replies-blam!- all these dumb -blam!-s -blam!-ing get a job ha bums. If you can't afford $15 or 10 pounds a month you have ducking problems
-
I've payed monthly fee for games and have no problem with it at all. Destiny has taken up pretty much all my gaming time so I would not mind paying more if it improves the game. I think it would cut a large chunk of the casual fan base so might not be in Bungies interest.
-
I'd pay 5 a month
-
2 RepliesI kinda thought that was what the DLCs were instead of a monthly sub fee
-
Edited by Serin Palmer: 1/31/2015 5:53:13 PMThe game has less content than Halo Reach. No game with a 2 year lifespan and would ever require a subscription fee. GTA 5 deserves a subscription more than this pile of mediocrity. You sir are a dumbass.
