Two questions 1) have you actually seen Crotas health bar completely drained and he is still alive? 2) is the person picking up the sword doing a running pick up or is he stopping to pick it up?(this is about the sword not being able to be picked up) Answers to some issues 1) the oracles are timed, if you don't kill them all fast enough it will say you have succumbed. If this happens get out of the portal ASAP and you should be fine and still have times vengeance. 2)Bungie had addressed heavy synth not working a long time ago. It's a glitch if your consumables are filled up ammo synths don't work. Usually if you have at least one open consumable spot open you should be fine.
