Receiving a death threat over Destiny
This happened to anyone? I had one guy a few weeks ago during iron banner tell me he will kill my family because I told his friend I don't want to do iron banner with them because they were noobs (which was true) they all had like 2 or 3 kills at the end of the game and he went and told them. Then they message me swearing at me. Now they weren't kids. They were grown men older than me. I just laughed it off.
I'm from the same country UK and could have ruined his life by telling the police but instead I told him I would be telling the police. Soon his tone changed to without swearing to (I don't care) so I left him paranoid and told him to expect the police to know on his door (since details are saved on psn).
The paranoia got to him and a few days later him and his friends start telling me how sorry they are.
Of course I told him it's too late and the police are investigating.
This is how you deal with trolls. Worst thing is these are grown men crying because they got called a noob which they were. I hadn't swore at them or anything just told them I don't want to play with a full team of noobs.

4 RepliesWhilst I totally agree with what you did and completely disagree with what they did, perhaps you should consider not insulting people as well end of the day this was all brought about by you insulting them. This isn't me trolling or condoning what they did, all I'm saying if everyone was a bit nicer maybe situations like this wouldn't happen in the first place

I had a guy threaten to come to my house and beat me up. When i told him where i lived he punked out and said if i lived in Illinois he would have. For reference, he also said he drives a mustang. It figures... Internet tuff guys are funny.

3 RepliesHaha that's bad, I had some guy message me last night "F$&! YOU" because doing roc strike and I got the suros as a prize, mind you I had the most kills and did most damage to the Nexus while him and the other dude were messing around.

Needless to say, when the 26 left and the 31 started killing the hive, I went and sat in the room and blocked his spawn. Boy was he pissed lol, and he threatened to dox me, I reported him to Microsoft and sat there until he rage quit. No death threats yet, which is surprising, as I've been doing well in the crucible lately.

4 RepliesWas playing reach and blew up a revenant with armour lock, he was trying to splatter me when I was on his team because I had the sniper. He sent me lots of threats, and I spent the rest of the game shooting him while he was in combat. He eventually quit, threatening me and the game.

While I've never experienced anything outside of "I'll kick your ass" from an Internet tough guy, this behavior shouldn't be tolerated. I would report them as soon as I had a chance. If anything, this would deter the real creeps from future threats.

While there is absolutely no reason ever for death threats to someone and their family, from the sound of this post I could see why people would get upset.
