The Great Heavy Ammo Drought of 2015 continues
Xur has failed us. he has not brought the purple boxes of hope The Nine had promised. Guardians wary enough to have horded them during the last era of plenty eye their stock piles greedily. While others who weren't as frugal wander the wild scavenging from the dead.
Raid teams turn on themselves as one by one the life saving rounds disappear from their magazines by way of some cruel invisible hand, and suspicion gives way to indignation, pitting Guardian against Guardian. Yet other Guardians fall to madness trapped beneath the moons surface, they empty their last weapon stores into the darkness in sacrifice to the Traveler that he may hear their cries, they are seldom seen again.
The Exclusion Zone on Mars has become rampant with the glimmerless, hoping to get just enough to make it through the day, as the price gougers in The Tower writhe their hands in anticipation of the fleecing to come, and take advantage of the weary and forlorn with what can only be described as the callous soulless efficiency of the automaton, but still, the Speaker and the Architects put no words to the matter and rumor of dark corruption abound ....Why have we been forsaken, O' great and wise traveler will there be no end to our suffering?

72 RepliesDay 1: Xur had no heavy ammo synths this week, ah well. I'll run by the gunsmith and pick up a few. Day 8: I can't wait until tomorrow, I haven't shot a rocket all day. I'm getting kind of antsy. Day 9: Xur still has not ammo synths, I'm going to have to do some glimmer farming and grab a few from the gunsmith. Day 11: I am now making dakka-dakka noise as I fire into the hordes of Crota's thralls. I'm nearly out and I need to conserve, Day 16: My fire team is out of rockets. We've been stuck down in the World Wound for the last 6 days, attempting to destroy Crota. Things are not going well. Day 25: It has been 2 weeks since my heavy ammo has run out. I dismantled my Super Good Advice and reassembled the shell around Doctor Nope. So far my fire team has not suspected anything with the exception of our other hunter. I had to convince him I had made modifications to SGA. Day 28: The entire team is now just making explosion noises while sitting around a large rock. The three warlocks are in the corner, trying to figure out how to launch left-over Ascendant material at the enemy. The titan keeps popping his defensive bubble, punching the air, and then quietly crying in the corner. Day 30: There is no longer any hope. I am the last one here. The rest of my fire team, save the titan, have thrown themselves upon Crota's blade. My stalwart friend said he would go for help. but I know there is no help. He will never make it out alive. I have heard the rumors filtering down from Earth. Xur has shown himself empty handed. No one will make it to the center of the moon again. I am alone.

Don't forget if your team dies on Crota you can switch your boots to non-heavy boots and you won't lose any rockets if you are at 5 or under. Don't forget to switch back when the screen loads.

I remember being pretty much maxed out on glimmer for weeks at a time. The last time Xur brought heavy I only bought 120 synths, now I find myself looking to glimmer and heading to exclusion zone. Oh how silly I feel.

8 RepliesI've never faced Crota on any difficulty. Im curious as to how many synths each player needs to bring to a fireteam. I have had about 10 on average for ages now. Is the wax idol method of getting them not viable?

6 RepliesOh my god. I didn't actually know this was a problem for people. I always have max glimmer and just spend it on random crap to clear some space. So I thought getting heavy ammo from the gunsmith wasn't a problem for anyone.
