If xur doesn't sell heavy ammo, I won't even attempt crota on hard
I'll do the entire raid on hard up to crota, then after the group inevitably wipes due to nobody having rockets, I'll go finish him on normal.
It's pretty sad when this fight is based solely on wether you have heavy ammo or not.

1 ReplyWiping in raids more than 8 times due to not having enough synths = 1 hour(app) 1 hour on exclusion zone = 20,000glimmer(glimmer and some network keys, again approximation) Which can be 20+ heavy ammo synth. Yes its boring. But less frustrating than wiping on raid.

Start fight with corrective measure equipped, spawn 2-3 heavy packs that give 4 rockets each. Problem solved.

There's a secret way to get heavy ammo synthesis. If you walk to the left from where the cryptarch is, go up the stairs, and then walk straight there is a secret merchant who trades heavy synth for a special currency called glimmer. To get glimmer you have to kill enemies. You should do this before Bungie patches this secret.

The worst thing is popping a synth, wiping and losing half your ammo. Is that intended?

7 RepliesFun tip: when on a phone call with someone: get on the exclusion zone and use your resupply codes in the starting where you kill the majors legionaries. Die without killing the last phlanx and repeat till your phone call ends (preferably a work call or with some friend/girlfriend/family) By the time the call ends you'll be surprised how you farmed so much glimmer to buy those heavy synths

14 Repliesi agree to a point i was invited to a crota hard CP earlier but told them i only had 5 synths and that if i ran out i would be leaving so as not to hold them back sadly, i had to leave. i hope they did well hopefully tomorrow xur will love me by bringing the goods

Honestly, i dont use alot of heavy synths on HM.. As long as i have one or two in the mag i will not pop one untill second sword.. By that point you have a good idea if its a solid run worthy or its just gonna be another wipe.. If it looks good ill pop one while waiting for him to go back center.. Average 5 or 6 synths till kill.. Worth the glimmer imo.. But popping one at the beginning of every attempt is pointless

Nor should you! HASs are a requirement for hard Crota unless you want to spend 2 hours hoping for that perfect run where everyone gets enough drops AND nobody screws up. That being said, if you have a good group it can be done with minimal synth. We did 2 clears last night and I burned 4 synth total.

Get a 'No Land Beyond' and Google the heavy ammo respawn glitch. You'll never need heavy synths again...

Hue hue hue, that's why i got Ruin Wings, i always see Heavy ammo drop around and remember that location and grab the ammo when i run out, and each pack i find gives me 4 rockets. Feels great to be a Titan!! BTW i have a G Horn too.

its not based on that. Maybe try a diff strat and don't rely on just 1 mechanic? There are tons of other ways to get heavy ammo, and even other ways to get synths if you need that crutch.

I've become pretty good at preserving my synth supply. When I am alive and know it's a wipe, I swap out my heavy ammo boosting legs. Saves many rockets.

15 RepliesHow can nobody have rockets ?? . The fuking gunsmith sells them all the God damn time and for GLIMMER . Which is the easiest thing in the game to come by . 99% of players are at the 25k limit almost constantly. The other 1% has less than 25k because they just spent it all on HEAVY AMMO PACKS . Probably every person I play with has about 20 heavys minimum all the time. Who the fuk goes into a raid WITHOUT going the gunsmith first ??

3 Repliesluckily i dropped 50 coins on heavy the last time he had it. still have over 100 between my vault and 3 toons. with 2 gally's, hoc, and 4 other launchers i go through a bit of heavy.
