You'd be better of buying because for some reason the upgrades always have worse stats

yeah i've noticed that. i just want a hunter helmet that heals me when i pick up orbs for the raid. i have enough glimmer to buy a few upgrades but that helmet is the only thing im looking for

I have aphyliophage but no legendary gauntlets to let me use it

thats a great hunter helmet, probably my favorite. why dont you but some gauntlets from the vanguard mentor?
