DATA TRANSFER FROM PS3 TO PS4....
Hi Gang,
My friend started playing Destiny on PS3.... I am trying to get him to join me on PS4, but he is scared that he will lose all of his gear/data and have to start over... does anyone know if this is the case?

1 ReplyHe won't lose any character progression as all of that information is stored on the server. As long as he continues to use the same PSN ID he is on the PS3, he will not lose anything. He may need to purchase the game again unless he qualifies for the Digital Upgrade program. https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12122

I did the exact same thing. I started playing Destiny on my ps3, then bought a ps4. Here are some facts from my experience: PS3 destiny and ps4 destiny are the exact same game, no need to buy it twice (if bought digitally through the psn) but ps3 game discs won't work on ps4 and the upgrade program mentioned in the previous post may help. Your character, save, inventory, etc. are saved just like the person in previous reply said, all he needs to do is sign in with the same psn account and he can pick up right where he left off on the ps3.
