You young guardians don't know how easy you have it.
I remember when I had to walk up hill in the snow just to get a back seat to the loot cave. And when you got a purple engram the cryptark demanded sexual favors and still gave you blue boots.
We had free legendarys from bungie in my day too
Wasn't a gift from the postmaster but queens wrath mission. And you would go back to orbit until you got the first mission on earth!
And don't get me started on holding 5 bounties!

Never forget the hours farming for mats. And the joy when you received that super special surprise of 10 mats in one chest and a few blues. If I hadn't lost a leg to a cursed thrall I would do my old happy mat dance.
And as a fellow grampardian as stated not all was bad. We had our glitches, cheeses, OP weapons and able to pick a very special few dedicated to going back in time and destroying oricals.. Of those days were sweet....

That's how they get ya I served 8 tours with the Queen and And all I got was an arrow to the Knee. Then I had to walk uphill in the snow in the cosmodrome just to get one spinmetal for every mile i walked.All the time the arrow is sticking out of my knee, getting stuck on bushes. And If i came home without upgraded armor you think I would get a hot meal that night? Nah I got to spend the night on the wall keeping watch.

OMG 5 bounties was a bitch. Back and forth to the tower. Also I had scheduled farming days.. Can't remember how many times I wanted to go insane farming mats

I remember when the Mythoclast was a must have exotic. I remember when Atheon's Epilogue shredded from 50 yards away. Those were the days.

3 RepliesI remember the first days of the beta, couldn't even get past the first loading screen. Wasn't very fun, but it was felt right for it to be happening. I remember playing for 12 hours straight and getting a purple, that turned into a blue. We had to work for our legendaries. Anyone else remember the final hours of the beta? Just finding a nice spot, maybe with a friend or two, and just sitting? Taking in all the memories and the glorious scenery Now I never even think about playing, the game got to easy and repetitive. The community went from helpful and open minded to ignorant and in a way prejudice. Oh well, all good things must come to an end, right?

6 RepliesIt seems like we had it worse but think about it. We could go off the map and kill templar. We could push him off with solar nades. Same with Atheon. It's why so many scrubs had the vex so quickly. We had multiple legit loot caves We had a glimmer farm easier than the exclusion zone We had blue ascendant mats We were all low level at the same time and never had to play catch-up We got a Queens wrath. I'd say we had it pretty damn good.
