Having gained Thorn ages ago I didn't take to hand cannons at all. This week I picked up Word Of Crota from the Crota Hard Raid, loved it. Returned to orbit to find I got Hawkmoon at the same time too, LOVED it. Went to help a group kill Templar on Hard VoG, three people get the Fatebringer, LOVED IT. Do a ROC Strike get this - WENT INSANE! I'm levelling up the Rare first, then the Legendaries, then the Exotics. I got them all in a week I can't multitask them all at once.
