MUST READ: Remove Phantom Gift on Word of Crota
I know a lot of you dearly love your new Word of Crota hand cannon you rightfully earned by killing Crota on Hard, but hear me out. THIS WEAPON IS BROKEN. The Word's unique perk, Phantom Gift (3 rapid head shots return 1 round to mag), is not only a mediocre perk at best but it is also broken by both Hive Disruptor (Increased damage to Majors) and the Explosive a Rounds perk. This a bug that Bungie saw coming due to the White Nail bug and made no effort to fix it preemptively.
I think the best solution would be to scrap the Phantom gift perk completely rather than rework the other 2 perks that break it.
Bump, like, or reply this post if you want your hard-earned handcannon to be the monster it should be.
TL;DR
Word of Crota is broken, let's make Bungie get rid of the broken perk on it that is bad even when it does work.

it would function similar to firefly, but would do less damage and have increased range in addition to a brief stagger animation when it connects on nearby enemies.

What about instead of a firefly [i]damaging[/i] effect, it disoriented/blinded hive instead? We have lichbane, and perks that shoot through shields, so a hive only perk wouldn't be out of the question. I got WoC last night, and I'm really digging it, but I agree, the phantom gift perk seems lacking.

Replace White Nail with LITC, Final Round, or even Crowd Control. Either one of those eperks would turn this average HC in an A+ weapon

That shrieker blast perk would be good on the necrochasm as a replacement for its current second perk.

4 RepliesI have not been impressed by any of the new raid weapons.... black hammer is the most useful in PvE anyway, but aside from that I can always seem to find a better replacement for the others.... I do like the new scout rifle just wish it had full auto instead of the marker perk that is pretty useless. Only thing nice about the new raid primaries is the damaged modifiers Void/Arc/Solar but other than that they are not really that special and are kind of a let down IMO.

5 Replies4-5 extra bullets increase each mags damage by 6160-7700. -blam!- firefly lol. Get good and stop bitching. And stop the complaining about the explosive rounds because it was the same with fb, messed up firefly more often then not. So again, quit bitching and learn how to hit targets in the head.

If they came with this perk you're suggesting (they won't) , lol, it would definitely challenge FB for the throne. For the record, I've had no issues with the perk but it's a lame perk and terribly underwhelming.
