House of Wolves will increase the damage to 362, you will have to reset all your exotics, again.

How would you feel about that? Personally I think that might be the final nail in Destiny's coffin, for me at least. Extending playtime be resetting progress isn't a good mechanic at all in my opinion. Edit: Exotic armour to light 42 as well. F me. Edit two: Please read the tags as well.   • I don't mind having guns reset to a higher base damage and all I have to do is regain the perks, which with many exotics don't make or break the gun(there are exceptions, notably the temporary loss of wolfpack rounds for the jellyhorn). Stock up on a few telemetries and you'll have them leveled in no time with 20 minutes of bounties a day for a few days. The gear "reset" doesn't bug me either. I've played MMO's though, this is nothing. Imagine finding a green or blue engram in house of wolves that was better than your raid guns or armor, which you raided for at least 3 months to get putting 3-6 hours in each raid a few nights a week (half of which is killing trash between bosses). Then having to grind hours of 4-5 repetetive strikes that take 30-45 minutes each on normal and then longer on hard to get gear good enough to even struggle through the first boss of the raid to hope that a piece drops for you and that some other guy in the raid doesn't get it instead. Meanwhile if a weapon does drop, it's stuck on that character. There is no vault with which to transfer it no matter how many warlocks you have. I look forward to the new weapons and gear, I miss the old stuff, yeah, but the dynamic and dramatic change in playstyle inherent in getting a new gun in a shooter is part of what draws me so strongly to Destiny. Mostly I wish the themes of raid gear were more dramatic. I don't want hive plating on a ship, I want the thing to look like it was carved out of a necropolis spire with smoky green flames coming out the back. I want guns that aren't only adorned with hive elements. I want them to look like I pried them out of the dead hands of some hive gunsmith deep in the bowels of the moon. I want the armor to look like a hive knight was torn apart and shaped to fit me, not just have some hive gunk plastered to the shoulders and elbows of something the vanguard is selling. I want it to look like my light burned through the darkness inhabiting the husk of some foul creature and reshaped it to be used as a tool to crush my enemies. But that's just me.

    • It's fine. Just upgrade legendary equipment and upgrade exotics I want. I am already in the process of getting ready for the next DLC. Can't wait!

    • I know what Bungie will do next. Which is revolutionary game play. Never been done before. They will make you start from Atheon and finish the raid with the sync plates. Just great and original. They will also make you walk backwards. This way you can't see the enemies that are shooting at you

    • So if vendor gear won't invalidate CE raid gear, that basically means the only way to get past level 32 will be by raiding, and the vendors may as well be removed from the game. Then will come the countless posts of people who can't do the raid because raid groups won't take a 32, so they can't do the raid to get the gear to level up. And the posts of those who have done the raid but haven't had the gear drop so are being left behind. And all because people complained about vendors selling gear that could get you to 31, in the same way they sold gear to get you to 29 before the DLC. And because people didn't understand that you could get 30 from doing normal VOG and the reason to be 30 was to do hard VOG to get weapons like the Vex, in the same way you can get 32 from normal CE so you can do hard CE to get the new primary raid weapons. Hitting the level cap is useful for current content not future content, once the level cap is increased and new higher level gear is released, the previous raid gear is automatically obsolete regardless of whether the vendors sell higher level gear or not. I mean why would you have run CE normal as a 30 with VOG raid gear when you could get vendor gear and run it as a 31, making it a little easier?

    • I think you're not the only one who feels this way, and I think Bungie's not [b]that[/b] dumb. So I'm inclined to think because you feel this way your edit #3 is the response to assure you they're not [b]that[/b] dumb.

    • It's good to see them willing to pivot when player reaction calls for it. I know this isn't a concern to most, but the one good thing about the vendor gear, for me, was that it gave me something to chase even though raiding is pretty inaccessible given time constraints. It's great that new vendor gear wont make CE stuff obsolete for you guys who've worked for it. But I would really like to see other end game content supported alongside raids. They seem to envision raids on the critical path to max level, always, yet I doubt very much a simple majority of players have completed CE, or even VOG once.

      Dont mind the reset at all... [b]BUT! [/b] As he said, and we asked. The reset can simply reset the damage nodes or add more damage nodes making the upgraded equipment with the equivalent atk/def values of the maxed out pre upgraded stuff as it is now + special perks unlocked. This would even make me happy! As it makes that these exotics are less trahy even if it takes the same ammount of work to lvl up their atk/def to the new max

      Why don't people understand? Its so obviously clear why they make us re level our exotics. That extra shard and glimmer you paid to upgrade to the 2.0 version of whatever, is in place of you actually having to acquire the next version of it randomly again. There are really only 2 ways to keep old exotics relevant. One way is they could have said nope sorry you can't upgrade what you've got, you have to acquire the new version and then level it up. The other is the way they did it. And I bet more people would have been pissed if they'd made us have to acquire the exotics again!

          • Based on the pattern. And some previously discovered information. The weapons will go up to 365 attack and the tower gear will go up to 39 light with raid gear being at 42 light. Blues will likely go up to 27 light and almost 300 attack if I had to guess. I haven't done much thinking on the changes to blues since I haven't wanted them in months. The total damage difference from a 300 to 331 weapon was about 14.5% so I would expect about a 30-35% difference at least between a 300 and the 365 damage stuff. Hopefully this time around bungie will respect the love and care we put into our exotics like they mentioned. But at least with the house of wolves expansion we will see iron banner gear go up to the highest light available that's been planned for this game. So it should be exciting to be rocking a full set of the stuff at level 34.

            • I personally like it. Exotics upgrading is fine, but legendary gear from vanilla and tdb should stay where they are at. Progress isn't being reset. You're just continuing the progression of gear. You're not starting from level one and having to redo all the story missions.

            • Honestly, the reset hardly effected me at all. I had all my exotics re-leveled in less than two weeks. That isn't bad for the damage upgrade.
