Why Christian life is simpler than a worldly life

Attention: This is not a conversion or religious flame thread. I'm sharing an opinion, so prepare your jimmies, for they may soon be rustled. Those who proclaim this to be debatable have fully relished in their ignorance. Brief note: I didn't say easier, I said simpler Keep in mind that ignorance can be as basic as not knowing your best friends favorite color. It will be more evident in those who reject the reality concerning these things. So here is my analysis on the whole deal. Another side note: when I refer to the world, I'm referring to those who do not know who their lord and savior is. Everyone knows who Christianity claims to be the savior, but "not everyone who says 'lord, lord' will enter the kingdom of heaven." The world has embellished itself by instilling societies that beautifies consumption and individual self worth. We glorify the deeds that are necessary to accumulate the money we worship, to drive the machine of society forwards. The world lives to fulfill their lives with self gratification, material possessions, and distinct social classes. This ideology has become destructive to the mind and body of it's followers. They boast in their deeds and accomplishments. They take pride in rebellion. And the most saddening thing of all is that they expect man to save them. With his great technology, his powerful, healing medicine and overwhelming desire for peace. The world lives by correcting the mistakes after they've made them, yet they do not seek premeditation or proactive correction. These are the things that bless us. The world lives to make a name for itself, rather than submitting to the name that the world was founded in. Christians live their lives to unify the body of believers under the head of Christ Jesus. Their obligation to the world has subsided because of their faith in the loving sacrifice that was Jesus Christ has justified their sin, and they have accepted his plan for salvation. A common misconception of this idea would be that we just sit back in our leather chairs and watch Jesus do the work. Well, Jesus has done the work, and what you're observing is faith, made alive by his blood and drawn to his righteousness. Many perceive it as ignorance, but how hypocritical would it be accept his life and not make every effort to duplicate it? Even more so, how hypocritical would it be to know that he has done the work, yet we feel compelled to compete for status? Christianity has never been about "status". Especially about status in the world. Now, you can debate that corrupt churches are becoming a thing, thus dismissing the sacrifice. It's easy to miss the point when man has strewn a facade of blasphemy among the gospel of Jesus Christ, but it's harder to earn your way into heaven by charitable deeds and kind words. Not only does this idea give people false hope, but it leaves them humbling themselves before idols and practicing their carnal desires before god. Which is all well and good if you love the world, but loving god is so much easier. Loving god is easier than loving the world, but living for god is more challenging than living in the world. For this reason, god has made life simple by giving us redemption at acceptance of his sacrifice. If you've made it this far, thank you for your patience, and I pray that you find comfort and peace in these words. TL:DR- IMO, Religious people abroad face persecution. I never claim the Christian life to be easy. Rather, it is simpler in the fact that we live to serve. We are called to live quite lives in obedience to our father, and in accordance to the covenant made with Jesus Christ. The world on the other hand, strives to be greater than it's creator. They have instilled false hope by promising death to be death, or by saying "works alone are good". There is no dignity in loving death or boasting of works with false humility. Above all, they hand their salvation over to the hands that are covered with innocent blood. How can I boast, when my god has humbled himself before man? How can I be self righteous if the only righteousness I have is given in accordance to my obedience? How can we deny the offering that was given? That's easy. Love the world, love what's in the world, love the worlds system (money). Matthew 6:24 "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." Whether you believe it or not, we are all slaves. If you think that wad of cash in your pocket will save you, i pray that you never find a god that can be bribed. Better yet, if you think that that little amount of money in your pocket is all you have, I pray that no god deceive you, for they will bribe you with an heirloom of insurmountable debt, causing you to worship at their command. The dollar only exists as a certificate of debt. We live our lives in accordance to this debt, that is, if we love tend to love the world. This servitude had been proclaimed necessary by the power that be in order to run a civilization. Does anybody else see the issue here? We are working for free, and we giving our void change to bums and saying "look how good I can be." Notice god doesn't say that it's necessary to be anything other than who you are. We are obedient in nature and our society is trying to see how far they can push that obedience. Man, crossing out of his own dominion to rule over his brothers and sister with deceptive tactics and a godless drive to establish a kingdom that surpasses it's heavenly counterpart. Only god is to have dominion over all. God bless all those who serve the father and honor the son out of the willingness of their hearts. Rejoice in the trouble to come, for it is a part of his plan for salvation. For those who do not know god or his plan, god willing, I pray you find a real hope to set your sights on, beyond this life. It's not the easy road but it's worth the effort. If it weren't, the father would have not resurrected Christ to sanctify you. God bless you all, and to those I offended, search yourselves to see why, before protesting that I'm baiting.

    • I don't know if this has been said already, but I'll say it in case it hasn't been said. You're missing a fundamental part of your argument. The proof that a god exists. If we have no proof that a god exists, then ALL of Christianity is ILLOGICAL, and we are living under rules we've created and misattributed to a false god: and Islam is full of examples of that danger. Furthermore, even allowing that a god exists, which is far from proven, he/she has no right to make moral laws, as shown by the Euthyphro dilemma, so even if a god exists, we're still essentially making up the rules as we go. Therefore, since your argument relies on a god's ability to make moral law, which has been shown illogical, you leave me no choice. *striking my foot with mighty force against a large stone* I refute it thus. Ow... My foot... Ouch...

      • Plus, I was raised a Christian. Then read other religious bibles. Then took an amazing history and science class. Religion gets people killed.

        • This is why I like to say I don't have a religion. It wastes time. I'd rather spend money traveling the world, on beaches, nice girls, rather than donating to a church.

          • Your "tl;dr" was tl;dr. Regardless, after only skimming a few paragraphs, reading the title and glancing at a few replies I have to ask: is life meant to be simple? We like to think of our species as intelligent. Why would it be that intelligence should be wasted by giving into an ideology which posits that all questions have a single answer?

Life is short. I've decided that Christianity and other religions place lots of restrictions on things I want to do or encourages me to feel guilty about enjoying myself. Indulging in a "guilty pleasure", feeling like shit, begging for forgiveness every time and saying prayers to make up for it is a complicated cycle that I find unpleasant. It made me feel depressed and stuck up when I told my gf I loved her or when I thought about her at all. Not trying to ruin religions for anyone, I'm glad it works for some and I hope they get the most out of the short time they're here, with it.

                            • When I dropped religion life became so much easier and simpler. Don't have to worry about salvation or stupid restrictions. I also think rationally now, an improvement from my former close-minded ignorance. I'm not afraid of death. Just gonna live life how I want.
