Reason why I hate HM Crota "Mid Strategy" aka cheese
1) Boomers can't hit you, so teammates never kill them and the boomers kill the swordbearer and they blame the SB for dying.
2) Takes away the fear from the boomers.
3) Takes no skill.
4) Teammates never want to listen to a legit strategy that benefits all players especially the SB, they only focus on themselves so they can't die and cause the team to wipe.
5) People don't have to respec their Class and change their armor and weapons for the HM since they eliminate basically all damage.
I'm hoping Bungie will patch this cheese..

Noatter what strategy you still need someone on boomer duty because you gotta keep them from hitting the SB... Its best if you stagger them rather than killing them

Ppl are trash and the difficulty spike is real. So it's still hard even with the mid strat. It still take coordination and a smart well equipped squad.

1 ReplyStagger the boomers with headshots on whatever side the swordbearer goes. Hit boomer 1 with a headshot, hit boomer 2 with a headshot, hit boomer 1 again and so forth without killing them.

2 RepliesNot a cheese but a different strategy. It's a safe strategy but not very reliable, sword bearer hides and can go down slow, risk of crota moving and boomers can be unpredictable. Personally I prefer left stairs.

I think the middle strategy is misleading.. Feels much easier but has never been successful for me. Left stairs worked for me!

the fix - increase the range of agro for boomers and let them shoot further, the problem - this will make the left side strategy much harder - all four boomers will now agro and shoot at you due to you now being in their range...

As for number one you still have someone on boomer duty you just distract them instead of killing. Just get one headshot every now and then to stagger. Ends up taking more skill for me to distract without killing than just finishing them off. But I do think bungie might patch it since it avoids wizard spawns which they did not intend

The whole point of that strategy is to NEVER kill the boomers, and avoid spawning a witch. Swordbearer goes invis before you jump up and then blink strike invis before the second attack.

Most of your team didn't even go outside the starting area for that part of the fight, and that takes away fear from the right side boomers and makes them pointless, therefore you cheesed. If people say invisibility during the abyss is cheese, then you cheesed even harder by cloaking on Crota. What's the point of timing if you can just go invisible next to him? Cheeser. Also, if everyone isn't standing right next to Crota on his platform, you are all cheesing. He's the main boss so what's the point of having him there if he can never hit you with his ranged or melee attack?

It's not a cheese a cheese is a glitch that makes the game or mini game easier this is just a platform that is out of range of the boomers and only 2-3 people could be there like I do

I do kind of agree with you though as it is taking advantage of game mechanics to facilitate or negate engagements. but then again, that's the very definition of a strategy; "a careful plan or method for achieving a particular goal usually over a long period of time" from Merriam-Webster

And this is why you have a backup sword carrier... And why you have one or two people shooting at the boomers if they even look at the sword carrier... I was the backup sword carrier. I'm a warlock. I can't go invis. We killed crota that run. Team efforts go a long way. And just saying... Middle isn't a cheese. I'll explain why. 1. Do we launch ourselves and skip portions of the map? 2. Do we despawn enemies by being out of bounds or self rez? 3. Can we still die from the location? Yeah... If anything- it's the smartest strat because you stay out of range of boomers and don't have to spawn wizards. But hey do what you want

Hm im not sure i label this as a cheese, i would say that term is for exploiting something in a unintented way. Pushing a boss off a cliff, making crota kneel forever, etc. Just standing out of range isnt exactly exploitive, imo ofcourse.

Oh and kirby, you sound like you have been upset running with randoms lately. You had a whole bunch of friends who would of ran the raid with you just fine, but ya went and removed them and now your stuck arent ya ;)
