Reason why I hate HM Crota "Mid Strategy" aka cheese
1) Boomers can't hit you, so teammates never kill them and the boomers kill the swordbearer and they blame the SB for dying.
2) Takes away the fear from the boomers.
3) Takes no skill.
4) Teammates never want to listen to a legit strategy that benefits all players especially the SB, they only focus on themselves so they can't die and cause the team to wipe.
5) People don't have to respec their Class and change their armor and weapons for the HM since they eliminate basically all damage.
I'm hoping Bungie will patch this cheese..

I don't understand. Wouldn't staying in the crystal building and keeping your team safe a cheese? After all I don't think bungie intended for you to stay in there?

Just because you think you are some kind of authority on cheeses doesn't make this a cheese. Its a legit strategy.

So now it's "anything aside from MY strategy is a cheese" lol. I like how when something might be more efficient or safer, it's a cheese. If there is no risk of dying it's a cheese..... what kind of logic is this? Also: This is one of the few strategies that has come out that doesn't involve despawning or jumping out of the map.... and people are already crying cheese? I for one was happy to see a legit strategy come out for once and not just another way to manipulate the AI's connection to the network, but apparently this too is a cheese lol. (i'm not particularly against cheesing but a good strategy is always preferred.)

Dude, you're an idiot. Your statement #3 directly contradicts with your statement #1. It definitely takes some amount of skill to snipe and stun the boomers efficiently so that they do not attack the swordbearer. You would never be able to kill Crota if the boomers weren't taken care of. Not to mention, Bungie specifically said to utilize your surroundings to complete raids/strikes. This isn't even close to a cheese. That middle ledge is obvious and easy to get to. It's almost like they made it specifically for you to be able to use. Also, it is NOT a location that you cannot be hit from. If Crota moves before you expect him to, he is going to pound the team from the left or right positions.

It isn't a cheese, it takes a lot to set up and you still have to deal with all the other bullshit like the sword vanishing or not being able to pick it up... I did both left and middle strategy and they're just as easy.

This is exactly the same strat when the relic holder jumps into the middle platform in Vog HM. Why is this any different? We are all very vulnerable. Relying on each others specials and voice communication. The crystal room is a rest place purposely left empty after clearing out the room. Is that a cheese too. Geezzzzz!!!

Middle Crota has about as much Cheese as middle Atheon. It's a perfectly legitimate strategy. One person in our team is always on boomer duty to keep them off the sword bearer. Just like sometimes someone would be in Supplicant duty while the rest shot Atheon.

the ideal method for mid has a dedicated sniper for one tower. right or left doesn't matter.. sniper is on a pillar further forward. sword just goes up on the side of the crota that has the tower that's being sniped. absolutely in no way is this a cheese. countless groups try and fail using it.. so that's not much of a cheese if members of the team are subject to attack from all available enemies at various points of the fight. dc to glitch crota is a cheese. not killing a boss but knocking him off a ledge is a cheese. self ressing to despawn all enemies is a cheese. standing out of range of fire of specific ads (when staying in that spot will in fact get you killed if you don't leave) and using the provided boss killing mechanics to kill the boss is not a cheese. we know this for a fact because in the crota arena there are spots that you can easily get to, but bungie didn't think was fare to be in so the nullify all damage from your weapons if you are standing there. If they already have that anti cheese mechanic. then that means places from which you can deal damage are considered fare game.

This is a strategy, not a cheese. It's like standing middle platform against atheon so supplicants can't blow up on you. Hunter swordbearer using all stealth perks can't go unseen by all boomers, resulting in not dying and killing Crota. Yes, it does require less skill but requires complete teamwork and communication for it to happen correctly.

If you are doing mid strategy & don't have a Titan going up ahead of you you're doing it wrong. Also I'm guessing if two Titans put bubbles up in the left tower that's consider cheesing also? Please get over yourself : ) It's all about the best strategy.

Using whatever elemental damage weapons on nightfall biggest cheese ever. If you have any skill what so ever you drop down to lvl 20 weapons and tear it up. If you need maxed weapons you suck and therefore are the biggest cheeser alive. Come on elitist's its time to come together and show these scrubs what's up.

3 RepliesBoomers are not a problem for the teams that i help. I am the swordbearer and have already helped 10+ teams to beat crota. My strategy involves not one shot being fired at the boomers the whole game and i am never touched by the boomers. No titans are needed either. If your IQ Is above 70 and you are at least a 31 with maxed rockets i can take your team to end.

Our team just had a defender Titan run with the SB and place it on the edge of Crotas middle platform to block boomer shots, gives him orbs too so he can super.

Noatter what strategy you still need someone on boomer duty because you gotta keep them from hitting the SB... Its best if you stagger them rather than killing them
