Reason why I hate HM Crota "Mid Strategy" aka cheese
1) Boomers can't hit you, so teammates never kill them and the boomers kill the swordbearer and they blame the SB for dying.
2) Takes away the fear from the boomers.
3) Takes no skill.
4) Teammates never want to listen to a legit strategy that benefits all players especially the SB, they only focus on themselves so they can't die and cause the team to wipe.
5) People don't have to respec their Class and change their armor and weapons for the HM since they eliminate basically all damage.
I'm hoping Bungie will patch this cheese..

6 RepliesEveryone I have played with this fool many times, I wouldent take any of his posts seriously. He is just looking for a reaction from people, that is how he is. Oh and kirby, you sound like you have been upset running with randoms lately. You had a whole bunch of friends who would of ran the raid with you just fine, but ya went and removed them and now your stuck arent ya ;)

Anyway uh yeah so Idk who the SB in your crew is, but when I run with my crew the SB doesn't get hit by Boomers cause they don't spot him. But I prefer trapping the boomers so they don't even have a chance at shooting the SB. EDIT: I'm sick of all these anti-cheesing posts. I cheese VOG & CE, there I said it, I'm not afraid to admit it, why? Because the bugs & glitches that go on are so frustrating and annoying. I legit spent 5 hrs on Crota because of something stupid happening every time like sword disappearing. Crota falling. I just wanna get it over with.

I can understand where you're coming from, but it's not a cheese. In fact, it's the equivalent to jumping on the middle platform in the VoG against Atheon. All you are doing is removing one part of the equation, in this case the boomers, in the VoG it's the supplicants

( Assuming you saw that one video) 2.) Crota's health must be taken down Sword by sword, just like every other strategy. 3.) There is no shield draining on crota like a known cheese has shown. 4.) Ogres must be dealt with and killed just like any other strategy. 5.) No way to prevent enrage from happening, or oversoul for that matter. 6.) The room for error is the same, if not a little less than any other hard mode strategy.

I can imagine your frustration and I feel like the boomers should be able to hurt you in that room, I also think that the thrall should come into the room and kill you not run up and down the stairs as if they've not got the courage to follow through with their threat. :P However it seems like it would possibly make it soo much harder, but hey the harder it is the funner it is.. right? ALSO, How organised do we look? :P

It's not technically a cheese, it's just a highly viable option for beating HM Crota.. In all honesty yes I see your argument, but everybody just wants to finally beat it.. I've only done it twice so far

I'm interested to hear your argument as to how the middle strategy is a "cheese"? I'm guessing it's because the team is out of firing range of the Boomers? By that logic, the left hand strategy is also a cheese as you're out of firing range of the right side Boomers. Taking it to the logical conclusion, the only way to not cheese would be to stand within range of both sets of Boomers at all times. I assume this is what your team does, yes? As far as I'm concerned, a "cheese" is taking advantage of a glitch in the game. Being out of range of an enemy's attack is in no way a "cheese". If you think otherwise, you probably need to take a step back and think what that means for how you and everyone else plays the game. By the way, it's quite pathetic to blame your team for your deaths and then see you have to burn off your super against a wall, to be able to pick up one of their orbs and save yourself from dying. Great teamwork there!

2 RepliesI think this is a bit dramatic. To call distancing yourself away a cheese..no! Cheese in my judgement is cheating or tricking the game where this is perfectly legitimate though it's not very brave at all. Calm down and stop causing needless grief for yourself.

Sorry OP, by using the left stairs strategy you are cheesing this encounter by not letting the boomers on the right shoot at you. Only when your whole team stands on the middle altar thing on the ground where you're in range of the boomers and Crota, can you say you are not cheesing the encounter. Wait a minute, the thrall can't attack you on that platform either. Standing on the ground makes you vulnerable to every possible enemy in that encounter and therefore is the only legit way. Standing out of range of enemies = cheesing

If u throw up a bubble on the side of the exit of the door whichever side your sword bearer is going up the bubble will make the boomers shoot the bubble drawing agro

It reminds me of shooting templar from up top in VoG. Only this Crota method is a lot harder. Wouldn't say it's a cheese. Just the best strategy out there currently.

Tried basic left strategy and almost got it first shot (ran out of rockets for last down) then finished it next go. Left strategy is still the way to go imo.

Map advantage is not a cheese. Boomers can't hit us from there and so it is not a cheese. That's Like saying hiding downstairs is a cheese, it clearly isn't but Bungie thought it was too easy and so they have a gatekeeper downstairs now. What Bungie May do is increase boomer reach to center. But that won't change anything trust me. If That's a cheese then hiding by stairs is a cheese too, so again no. Also if your Hunter gets hit by boomers then that's your teams fault. There's is a way to prevent that, just learn it.
