Should there be a way to get to lvl 32 solo?
EDIT - Hey guys, I actually made this post a month and a half ago and for some reason no one noticed then but it's getting a lot of an attention now. I am 32, have been for a while now, I found a regular raiding group for hard mode and have learned the art of soloing normal mode, and I'm okay with the way things are. Sorry for this outdated post, I completely forgot about it. Anyways, cheers guardians. May you all have a wonderful day.
Some people really don't have the time to schedule with 6 people and raid for a whole day. I'm one of those people, and I would really like for there to be a way to get to level 32 by myself, seeing as I put countless hours into soloing the game's many solo-able modes (everything but the raid) and although I play as much as a raider I could never be rewarded at the same level. Anyways I was thinking something like Vanguards and crucible handlers can sell exotic-bounty-like quests which cost 200 marks. They would play out with a similar amount of challenge as Thorn, and reward the player with lvl 32 gear, which I think is an appropriate reward for an activity like that.
Or Bungie can just patch in the option for Raid Matchmaking. Don't give me the "you need to make sure you can trust the players" routine, because 90% of raiders use DestinyLFG anyways which is pretty much really really really slow matchmaking and they turn out fine. Raids are the only activity that you can't solo, so to not add matchmaking into them is a very poor decision to me.
However, since it looks like that won't be happening any time soon or even at all, I think it would be really great for someone like me who can't put several-hours at a time into the game, but still plays a lot and is very dedicated to the game, to have the ability to get to lvl 32 by themselves. Many of you say this will be way too easy, but considering you'll be able to buy lvl 33 gear from vendors when HoW comes out I don't think it's too far out of line.
But anyways, what do you all think? Please vote in the poll or comment below to let me know!
TL;DR - I think there should be a very challenging way to get to lvl 32 without raids that could play out something like Exotic bounties. What to you all think?

Hated raiding because every time I would try it we couldn't even pass the confluxes in the vault of glass! With Iron Banner back then, I was able to reach level 30 with one character and 29 with another. My attitude towards it changed once I met a good player who was more experienced than me at raiding. He took me into the Vault and we started clearing it with other good players who knew what they were doing. I guess my point is that raiding suck unless you find the right people. Also you can solo the abyss, like the other person mentioned below!

If you can't get a full team then what's the point in being 32? The only point of being 32 is to raid.

Than probably 30 mins to a hour if you want the helmet. Not having time is probably the dumbest excuse I have heard Also for the record and you reach 32 solo because the whole Crota raid can be soloed

If they keep doing the Iron Banner like they have been, I think it's totally possible. The nightmare stories I read here about terrible raid groups and people getting kicked for one reason or another makes me wish it was possible, yes. But the fun of it would disappear.

1 ReplyI don't see any reason to get there solo. The raid is the only place one needs level 32 gear. For every other activity you can be a level higher than the enemies using tower gear. So if you don't have time to get the gear from the raid you are also playing activities that it's not necessary anyway. I think the developers didn't think a few things through in this game, but this is not one of them.

There is no point in being 32 if you can't raid. If you don't have time to raid, you don't deserve to be level 32. No content except for raids require you to be level 32. Being 31 vs. 32 in Iron Banner makes a minute difference.

If you reached lvl 4 last time then in this coming iron banner it is possible to be 32 with no raid armor... ib sold 36 light gauntlets and leg armor last time, next time it is believed he will sell 36 light chest piece add an exotic helm to the mix and you have yourself lvl 32 with no raid armor.

Why would you need to get to 32 solo? The hardest content you could possibly do would be solo Nightfall and you can get to 31 solo so it's all good.

Destiny developers have clearly stated and admitted that selling level 31 armor from vendors in the dark below was a mistake an they do not plan on selling level 33 gear when HoW releases

If you can just add a bunch of people then invite people who are on when you're on you'll probably get a good team formed then the raid itself should only take 1-2hours depending on how the team performs

Get on the recruitment forums and get a group, if you are at least level 31 (which you can just buy your way too nowadays without ever having raided) you can get into anything basically except maybe Crota Hard (in this shit community people probably won't let you join them lol). But normal Crota is enough to get all the gear you need to hit 32. I've barely got 200 hours into this game, I'm very casual compared to most, and I still find time to raid. If you put in the effort to find a group and grind to level yourself to 30+, you can get into a raid and hit level 32. The halos and Destiny forced me to get into the social aspect of fps a lot more lol before them I was antisocial when it came to fps gaming and only played sports games with friends lol

I got to 32 solo. I wasnt accustomed to raiding or forming parties so I just solod CE (till deathsinger) until I was 32. Eventually when hard mode came out I wanted those guns so I bit the bullet and started joining groups using the forums. I haven't looked back. It was a shame I started so late tbh. Its great working with ppl to get your loot. If you haven't tried it, you really should give It a go

4 RepliesBy the next IB, all pieces will have been sold I believe. Also, you can solo the first two parts of the raid which supply the gloves, boots and chest piece. An exotic 36 light helm can be purchased via Xur. Level 32.

You can solo the armor drop sections of the CE raid with a little bit of effort and without cheesing. With even a little more effort (and the help of some decent weapons) you can solo the Deathsinger and Crota, as well. Not only will you hit 32 solo, but you'll have a story to back it up.

...there already is a way to get to 32 solo: - majority of the Crota's End can be done solo, heck, even the whole raid - there's Iron Banner where you can get 36 light gear - Nightfalls can give you exotics
