Since Bungie nor Deej has replied to any of the complaints about it not dropping and nobody getting it, I think we are over looking how to really acquire this last piece of the puzzle. Crux is defined as a critical or difficult point in time or in any given challenge. We also know how Bungie likes to go deeper than just naming things for no reason. Crux's Latin meaning is "a wooden cross" or "a place of death or ending." Now putting all of these together and naming something a "Crux of Crota" could possibly mean it's an item found in a specific area AFTER defeating Crota on hard difficulty. It MAY NOT be a direct drop you typically get like the shader or a ship does by going straight to your inventory. Maybe we must beat him on hard difficulty on the raid and then kill his soul in the mission on the moon to finish him? Maybe it's location is somewhere near a wooden cross or a cross of some kind in the area of the boss battle only revealed on the hard mode version after killing Crota. Any other ideas???
Edit 1: Horcrux! Lol best explanation yet. We must find his horcrux's and destroy them to obtain the "crux."
Edit 2: Deej is listening! At least on reddit anyways.. Here is the link in which he is replying and "updating" us:

13 RepliesYou have to take Crotas shield down with eidolon ally fact here's the proof

3 RepliesHeard -TMG luckyboomer- got the Crux Xbox 360

2 RepliesEdited by KinkyMemePie: 1/27/2015 8:54:05 PMI will say that I have heard many stories of how to get the crux. I heard one was you have to use the eidolon ally the whole time while beating Crota, One was get Crotas shields down with eidolon ally, another was kill a certian number of oversouls with the eidolon ally, even kill Crota with the glowhoo shader on 3 times on ONE SINGLE character. I dont know about you guys.. But Im pretty sure its all rumors and that the crux is just a legend. Its probably just not been dropped yet and has a very extremely low chance of drop. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

1 ReplyIM IN LOVE WITH THE COCO!!

Its dropped check other threads 2-3 have it

Check the YT Channel from ProNDC. He got some gameplay with it.

Stop reading into this. Its been announced that Crux drops from Crota, a friend idly mentioned something like it has a percentage of a percentage chance to drop. Meaning like 1/1000+ chance to drop. If it hasn't dropped yet, its because RNG is a douchebag. Give it some time. Deej has 'confirmed' it is in the drop table, as a drop from Crota himself, IE Beating the raid on hard mode. That being said. Crux of Crota, as a name, works perfectly fine. 'Place of Death / Ending of Crota', meaning Crota must die so that you may obtain the last of his soul / energy and feed it to a sentient, homicidal weapon that enjoys killing its once-brothers-in-arms.

5 RepliesJust want to ask this little question; how many people got the Vex Mythoclast in the first week of the hard raid? My guess would be not many, so the reports of no Crux being found yet are far from proof that it's not in the game or that there is some trick to getting it. Also, before I get some random Vex figures thrown at me, consider also that there are a hell if a lot less people playing than there were back in Sept.

36 RepliesWhat people do not understand about Nechrochasm, is that max Fire Rate and minimum Impact will make about 10% of your kills trigger the cursed thrall explosion. I'm only going to get it for the card

It's crotch.... Crotch of Crota... Reach around required...

2 RepliesI think we're all over looking something here. The crux of crota can only be obtained on hard crota. We know this for sure. But the description of the item States "can only be obtained by defeating the son of Oryx and heir to osmium throne in the raid's most difficult mode. Most people would assume that to be crota, but what if we're wrong? Osmium is "a hard, heavy, metallic element having the greatest density of the known elements and forming octavalent compounds". Upon replaying the mission "the sword of crota" i believe that the sword itself is made of osmium. This also appears to be the same sword that the gatekeeper has. If someone were to kill the gatekeeper and crota in a short space of time before the gatekeeper can respawn, will this cause the crux to drop? Their has also been speculations of a gatekeeper spawning above the starting room with crystal inside. I myself have seen this gatekeeper up there. Upon trying to reach the area, I could easily achieve a height high enough to go inside, but unfortunately there was and invisible barrier blocking me from entering, but what if the person with sword could enter this area and kill the gate keeper? Is there something up there that we do not know about? This is all thoery, and should not be taken as 100% true and accurate. If you wish to try these theories, or have any of your own, let me know. Good hunting guardians

Long story short: They -blam!-ed up. Again. It'll be ninja patched. Again.

3 RepliesYou have to mount and ride a supplicant from the Vault of Glass to Crotas end, where then after the sword wielder gets Crota's health low enough, you must self destruct crota to stub him. You the must have befriended atheon, who will teleport 2 of your teammates to Venus and mars respectively. They grab the relics, and atheon will teleport them back. Simultaneously the 2 relic holders must shoot the rocket at crota, while the sword holder super chargers crota. Only then will the crux of crota drop, and you will have your necrochasm

Now putting this together and naming something a "Crux of Crota" could possibly mean
That like many things in Destiny, Bungie got lazy. -The item is called the Crux of Crota. -Crota is the boss you must kill in the raid. -Crux means a place of death or ending. -The raid is the place you kill Crota. -The raid is called CROTA's END. The raid is called Crota's End, and in the raid you kill Crota, where he drops an item that essentially literally means "End of Crota." Lazy, lazy, lazy. There's no great mystery behind this or some puzzle to complete, it's just another item you have to grind like hell to get just like everything else. Bungie took the lazy route and made it appear clever and interesting, just like they did when they pitched this damn unfinished game to everyone.

10 RepliesFirst you have to complete all Eris missions and the Omnigul strike to destory all of Crota's other horcruxes. Then you have to let Crota kill you as a sunsinger warlock to kill the last horcrux within you. Then self res and kill Crota to get the crux.
Or at least that's how Harry Potter did it
9 RepliesSomeone i know got it

3 RepliesSomeone has it. Inspect the player veroli

So, can he confirm it's who it says? I don't blame him though, people here are assholes, I wouldn't do more than I got paid for either.

If the game is truly rng then I'm sure there is no method to this madness

You went full retard, never go full retard.

1 ReplyTo get the Crux EVERYONE on the fireteam must hit crota at least once. Hard mode of course. For even the possibility of drop. Ultimate teamwork and equal contribution. As of yet, everyone only had one sword runner.

8 RepliesMy guess is that you have to actually use the Ally (fully upgraded) during the fight, I don't actually have it but here are some of the things I was going try. English definition of "crux" http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/crux -Destroying the oversoul with the ally, try to have all people with allies to destroy it or at least try and get the final hit -Try only using the ally during the final fight (More of a "if destiny was real theory")
The key here is that the whole point of the Eidolon Ally is that the more you use it, the more it becomes your "friend" and gets stronger, if your trying to make stronger but not even using it, than it cant really have a stronger connection to you.
Maybe a weird idea but could it be killing the gatekeeper and then go after crota?
-
Maybe the crux can be obtained by activating the mysterious portal in VOG. Actually I think the crux could be a scoreboard thing. Kinda like preventing the Templar from teleporting.
