Nah don't be crazy, we're the testers. Have proof: Crota's end, normal mode.

I just don't see them throwing this out at us before it was ever beaten. I would see at least one elite group of gamers put together by Bungie (or hell game developers themselves) going threw and beating this before anyone. If not to test it at least for bragging rights.
