Level 30 and have never finished VOG raid
What's the best way to find a VOG raid party? I have done parts like the first section and the next boss but never killed atheon.....I don't have a Mic which some people don't like and first time I played had no idea what I was doing.
I spend too much time doing bounties and also been levelling up my 2nd character but really want to start doing the raid.

You can get by without a Mic as long as you can listen to instructions and have an idea of what's going on. Having a Mic is great though as you can call out when something unexpected happens. Ideally do some research on Youtube watching an explanation video of what's expected of players at certain parts of the raid.

On ps3 as it's older you can get cheap mics now, I got one for £4 that's USB. It worked fine, I've since upgraded to ps4 and am having huge chat problems on it! I've done the entire Crota raid now without a mic, but I don't think I'll be able to ever do vog as it's so much more complicated and really needs voice

Join the most popular groups on the group forums. Then post that you want to do the raid. But I suggest getting a mic

3 RepliesI assume what you're saying is "I skip normal VoG. I am level 30 now and want to do VoG hard mode since its on par with my level." My suggestion to you is don't take end game content casually. Tons of youtube vids out there, watch what you're gonna running into, it's nasty.

17 RepliesYou're not alone, today I went through the full VoG, no experience. But, I'm a quick learner, I have a mic, and I have icebreaker. :-). The guys that picked me had a lot of patience, I don't think I was too bad. (a good bunch) Just keep looking and post up in recruitments. But, a mic is a must, communication is key.

5 RepliesThere is no way you can do VoG without loads of experience or a head set. Shield blasting, relic running, cleansing, mars or Venus, getting lost in gorgon alley etc I've only done it five times and still get told different ways of doing it each time. Do you not have a Xbox headset (do PlayStation's come with free one?)

First off what system are you playing on? If it's Xbox 360 or One, or the PS4 they all come with a mic so you have no excuse for not having one. If you play on PS3 and you haven't bought a mic by now, you seriously need to consider that types of games that you play since all coop games available have some type of chat.

I'm sick of sh*t teammates. I find a team, get through it, frustratingly slow because they all die and I have to run around frantically reviving them while cleansing myself and the others. Then we get to Atheon and then they all one by one say something like "oh hey I have to do something" or "I have to go to bed now guys, cya" and boom I'm sitting at Atheon, by myself. So I just don't bother anymore.

But now I'm ps4 and for some reason I can't get the mic to work, I've tried three mics, party or fireteam chat, logging in and out, resetting.... No one can hear me. I'm very lucky that my clan has accepted me even without speech and I've done the second raid three times now with them. But I can't join a Team with random people and there is no way I could do vog, no one will accept someone who can't communicate. I can hear everything people say! But I can't talk back.

Post on LFG and let people know you are new to raids, When you join the group, re-iterate that you are new. This will let everyone know that did not see your post on LFG. Usually one person will take you under their wing and explain what is going on. If the group is cool, other members will prep you with whats about to happen without even asking. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions. Oh and get a mic, calling stuff out is a major help to the group.
