Hello all. The purpose of this post is, as the title suggests, to solicit input on what traits/combinations of traits make a good warlock build in Crucible. I would appreciate suggestions for both subclasses.
For background, I primarily play crucible, though not exclusively. I've never yet played crucible with a fireteam, though I try to play synergistically with randoms who display competence. My main is a Hunter. But I also have a 26 Warlock. The stats for my Warlock (k/d etc.) so far are pretty bad (though my Hunter's aren't spectacular either). I started the Warlock because I really enjoyed blink, so I played Voidwalker almost exclusively until the last week or so. I have Voidwalker almost completely leveled, while I've only just cracked the second row of the Sunsinger skill-tree. However, even though it is barely leveled, I'm enjoying myself more playing with the sunslinger so far. A well timed nova bomb can be satsfying, but going into radiance just feels more exciting to me.
Edit: Oh, also, as it may influence particular builds, I primarily play clash, with a sprinkling of control. I do not anticipate playing skirmish, unless and until I start playing with a fireteam.
So, what traits on the skill-tree for each subclass do you find work well in Crucible, and why? In particular, what combinations of traits make for a good crucible warlock? Any suggestions on those subjects will be greatly appreciated. Commentary on my stats, or use of fusion rifles, or just bashing the Crucible content as a whole . . . not so much.
Thanks!

1 ReplyFusion Radiant skin Flame shield Radiant will Gift of the sun Exotic: claws of Alhambra Stat focus: discipline and strength I forego the frequent radiance (intellect) to spam sticky nades and have a lot of melee overshield (two of each!!). But use radiant will to lengthen the super I DO get. Works really well. Also when u do use radiance u have NO waiting time on cool downs as at least one is always charging. Previously I used sun breakers, solar flairs, Viking funeral and touch of flame. Pure Damage over time build. Worked quite well. Surprising how many people run through that nade thinking they'll be fine and "OH SHIT IM ON FIRE" lol. Turns out I'm half decent at sticking people so the first build suits more. Don't do very well with voidwalker, super doesn't kill as many as radiance, no sticky and no melee overshield.

3 RepliesSunsinger build: Firebolts Focused Burst Radiant Skin Flame Shield Arcane Force (really doesn't matter though) Radiant Will Ancestral Order (again, doesn't matter) Gift of the Sun For my Exotic I run Apotheosis Veil for the health regen, which shuts down a lot of people who try to kill me with Thorn burn damage. Also lets you use Radiance as more of a panic super. I've used this build for over 3,000 games in Crucible and it just works for me. Some people prefer the single grenade build with burn damage, but I just stick with 2 weaker ones.

7 RepliesEdited by Gustav: 1/21/2015 10:35:04 AMVoid Walker Focus on Agility and Recovery Axion Bolt Bloom Vortex Life Steal This is my Voidwalker build, and I love it! The Axion Bolt is a room clearer, since it works very well with Bloom. Vortex adds a bit of area-denial, and Life Steal can really save your arse. I usually use the Voidfang vestments, because I can spawn and then kamikaze grenade if I have to.

1 ReplyI use sunsinger with the voidfang vestements, the firebolt grenades, and radiant skin...admit I don't have the best KD but this is because I kamakaze in with the 2 grenades and my pistols taking control points and just have fun...unless lag then fun dies and I rage quit.

1 ReplyDO NOT - I REPEAT - DO NOT USE BLINK + SHOTGUN.
You make yourself look like an absolute noob if you do so. Blink is okay by itself though. Just do not couple it with a shotgun.
Edited by wigriffin: 1/22/2015 3:24:56 PMFor rumble: sunsinger with 2X fusion grenades and Voidfang Vestaments. You get two one-hit-kill sticky grenades per life. Every time you respawn. That's two easy kills per life with no assists. But I'd spec for damage resistance instead of self-rez and pop it if you pick up heavy ammo.

1 ReplyYou pretty much just have to be a Warlock, and show up. You've got one of the most overpowered classes for PvP, next to Hunter, at your disposal. Voidwalker: Soften targets with Vortex Grenades, or use them to keep people off of Control points. Blink + Shotgun, with Lifestealer melee. Nova-bomb everything. Use the vortex perk on your nova bomb to leave behind a giant cloud of purple shit that hurts everybody so you can finish off the survivors of whatever Titan bubble-shield you just f***ed up. Sunsinger: Do the same shit but get up on fire with super-buffs if someone kills you. :P
