Well, I am not happy with the Crucible reward system. Can't say for sure what it is,(I'm guessing straight RNG) but I hate it. It would seem that everyone, regardless of results produced, has an equal chance at the spoils and the rewards at that are not on par with running strikes. Strikes guarantee an engram + the hundreds of dice rolls throughout the strike from killing adds. Guaranteeing rewards for participation in the Crucible is a bad idea and will increase AFKs and "IDGAF" attitudes. It's a timed event. For strikes, someone has to do something. In the Crucible you could have 12 guys do nothing for 12 minutes and reap a reward, so we can't do that. Results(Skill*Effort*Luck) need to be rewarded.
If we start with a base of a 1% chance of a legendary/exotic for everyone in the match and my score is twice that of yours, then, in my opinion, I should have double the chance at the goods in comparison to you. With these scores, I should have a 1.34% chance to your .67% chance (if the match was 2v2). Again these numbers are examples assuming a base of 1%.
In a control match with 6 players on the winning team, this plays out as: for every 3,333 points you score, that gives you 1% chance. My score of 5,000 gives me a 1.5% chance and your score of 2500= 0.75%, and the rest is divvied out accordingly. We've all seen (or been) someone who drops 7000 points in a game and some jamoke with 2100 gets handed a legendary/exotic. I can't understand how anyone can actually like/respect this system. You get gear handed to you over time through vendors and the bounties help keep a level field. This system (my system) rewards effort/results and leaves no one out to dry. These numbers can be tweaked however to fit in game. You could save the newbs and add a bottom end safety net so that no one can drop below 0.5% (or half of the base %) for their chance at good rewards. The crucible is supposed to be competitive. (Am I wrong?) So why doesn't it reward accordingly?
Your thoughts?

I don't understand why anyone in less than first or second even have access to exotic loot tables. There is no reason to try in the cruci if you want weapons
