Me and friends were running cortas end and we got a level 30 but he had no mic, was still using a uncommon lmg (didnt change it, had no idea what he was doing and we couldnt tell him so we had to kick him, my friend felt it was a jerk move but i am not sure because he was weighing us down badly

Kick for LMG not mic. What i do is call to them, ask if they can hear by doing an action(ie shoot in the air). and ask if they have any questions or know what they are doing, dance if you're good and wave if you have a question. It sucks, but as long as they can hear me, know what they are doing, and have good weapons i dont mind. In my opinion you dont need everyone talking anyways

1 ReplyDepends on whether or not the person can hear you. I run Crota's end on Hard/Normal and I use a Kinect mic so in my case I can only talk via party chat and not gamechat, but I can hear gamechat. This usually puts me in the situation of informing the host and other players via message and 100% of the time their cool with it. Never been kicked. I understand kicking the person because they were using an uncommon lmg, cause that makes no sense. I dismantle those things all the time. Also if it wasn't attempting to respond back to you guys, then you shouldn't feel bad for kicking him at all.
-
Usually it's a dick move, but when they are using an uncommon machine gun in a raid, that's when you kick them
-
If he doesn't respond to messages then I would kick em too.
-
5 Repliesat least give them a chance? I have one friend in particular, we call him "the silent one" because he never talks but he's great for raids. just give them a couple of trys. at least then you wouldn't have to worry if it was a jerky thing or not right?
-
1 ReplyWell think about this.. the game is boring and insanely repetitive.
-
If I am playing without a mic for what ever reason I listen to what ever the players with mics tell me to do, I just think that is proper etiquette for no mic. If they are not listening to you then yes I would kick them.
-
1 ReplyYes unless they were wandering away from the group or not contributing to the effectiveness of the group.

If he does respond to xbox live messages and is the cause of multiple wipes then no it is not a jerk move. In order to be somewhat effective in the raid even on nm you have to at least have a good legendary primary maxed out otherwise you are being carried through. Personally I don't mind carrying people up to Crota but through Crota unless there is enough dps on Crota, someone killing boomers so no one dies, and they don't take risks. Ultimately if I carry someone through I prefer to talk with them. Half of the fun comes from chill out and talk while beating the raid.
-
If they don't have a mic then they should set your voices to play over their speakers so they can still hear you. Most guys without mics are still solid players so I let them in if they prove that either a) they are really good or b) they are willing to listen to those of us with mics. If they suck or won't listen then I just kick them.
-
If he was just a random then dont feel bad...the poor guy that got kicked probably felt like crap but hey ho thats the way it go's...
-
1 ReplyI got kicked from VOG hard on templar just because Xbox one party chat is messed. Then we went to gamechat but I could only hear two out of the six players. What is this ??? Omg life ....
-
No ps4 and xbone both come with mics so screw them.
-
4 RepliesNo. I'm sorry teamwork requires communication.
-
Nope. No shirt, no shoes, no service.

Edited by So Solid XT: 2/6/2015 7:25:13 PM> Hey guy without mic, dance if you can do boomers >*dances* As long as he listens to what everyone is saying then there's no problem, you don't need much communication in Crota. I would have kicked him for using an uncommon

If you are doing something that requires communication and someone doesn't have it then they should be gone

1 Replyyes if u didnt even send them a message and ask if they understand the strategy being used, we have a clan mate who is deaf and is a great player, literally send him a 2 sentence descrip and hes good, u never know whats on the other side of the mic, i used to think he just didnt like talking to us lol
-
Kick them
-
Send them a message first
-
I play with folks all the time who dont talk, dont see a problem with it.
-
With that situation, no. I've played with people with no mic and they did a fine job. But in your situation then it's justified.

1 ReplyWhat about if shrapnel has damaged your vocal cords. And it renders your speech unintelligible? Shrapnel received when deciding to put your life in the line to save two of your squad mates? What about if you've taken the time to learn how the raid works. How to complete it. And are willing to listen to instructions? What about if you've Informed the people in raid of this? Does that make me a jerk?
-
If they know what to do I have no problem with it. I would rather not kick anyone unless it's a must, but that's just me.
