This is a serious question to you guys that are in your 20s and older.
I am 20
Male
In middle school I hit puberty and had serious acne. By the end of high school my acne was very very mild, I would only get a bump or two every few weeks but would be gone by the time I got more.
I am now in my second year of college...
And it seems like my face keeps breaking out more and more and worse and worse....
Also I have been gaining weight which I never did during grade school. (I'm not fat..yet.).
Could it be possible I'm in some kinda growth like puberty..? And will I ever stop getting acne?? Also I do wash my face and I do treat the acne..

Edited by GeeUnit: 1/18/2015 10:58:40 PMLol no males stop growing altogether around the age of 21. Chances are the college lifestyle is just getting to you. Stress, bad eating habits, lack of exercise, etc will make you fat and acne plagued. Eat cleaner go workout and get some sleep.

That's called college stress syndrome buddy...you can research it it does exist most people get it sometime throughout college
-
The stress of college would contribute to both weight gain and acne breakouts. The weight gain comes from eating more food, and the average college student will eat generally "shittier" foods (things you can eat/make quickly). In turn, said dietary choices can aid in acne breakouts.

No your onto something you don't "hit puberty again" but something happens in your early 20s mayb another hormonal rush or something idk that can cause you to break out

Well, it wouldn't be again, puberty isn't just a thing. It's pretty much just a stage of life. It comes in waves, which is why you don't notice it at times. It's probably just coming backz.
-
I hope not
-
Maybe youv finished puberty

Sounds like signs of stress and an unhealthy diet to me. You should be more careful before you really get hefty.

Stress does it to me, makes my face light up like a christmas tree

2 RepliesI think this may be a diet issue. Contact your local doctor.

1 ReplySounds like you need exercise.

The average male will develop musculoskeletal till age 23, whereas the average female is physically mature at age 18. A few things to consider re: acne showing up: - Your body is experiencing a hormonal shift, this is usually normal. - You're exercising more; whether it's actual physical training, or your job is physically intensive. - You're sweating more, either due to physical or emotional stress; consider what acne actually is. - Did you recently consume something greasy/oily like Italian/Mexican food? Sugar rich products are also notorious for causing acne to show up. As you can tell, there are several things that can cause an acne "breakout". If you're truly concerned, talk to your doctor or dermatologist...if that's not a viable option, talk to your local pharmacist about over the counter options. Good luck, hope this info helped. :-)
