  • The BR expose was awesome, but I'd like to know more about scoping vs noscoping with the BR. MLG has a video up [url=http://gameroom.mlgpro.com/view/FELN61RZ59g.html]here[/url] showing how the rifle is less accurate while scoped in at shorter distances vs not scoped in, while it is more accurate scoped in at longer distances vs not scoped in. Could Bungie explain the details next time we have a weapon pau wau? The rest of the update is cool. You guys should come to MLG Dallas later this year.

  • Thank you Bungie for making Team Snipers playlist, if only for a double XP weekend. Now starting with a Beam Rifle and a Human sniper, you guys need to get on top of that. I still have friends that will not buy Halo 3 because you put a ban on Sniping.

  • Cold Storage comes out on Bungie Day for free I think. All the hints so far link to that. Cold Storage looks cool! In the first pic, is that a Tank Form in that Chamber? If so...Cool!

  • Ok first off... the whole thing on the BR was actually not that boring. Deffently the least boring tech brief yet. Second I LOVE THE NEW MAP!!!! I'm sure most ppl will agree with me...   • I have a serious question about the battle rifle. Don't know if it'll get answered, but can't hurt to ask, right? Ok, so i was taken back by the fact that i actually understood everything regarding how the battle rifle functions. What i would still like to know is how zooming affects everything mathematically. If you watch the video here (http://gameroom.mlgpro.com/view/FELN61RZ59g.html) you'll see why i'm curious. the first part makes sense: no zoom=no hit, zoom=hits. the second part seems a little stranger. the reticle is slightly off the target in both cases, but when un-zoomed, a bullet will hit every once in a while. when the player zooms, no bullets hit at all. my guess is that while zooming physically makes the target larger on your screen, it will also decrease each bullet's possible deviation. am i right? any clarification or other ideas would be really kool. that's what i've come to believe, and this update kind of reinforced the idea for me. what do you guys think? oh and by the way [QUOTE]Why is it okay for the BR to be inherently random, when it isn't okay for the melee system to be random? [/QUOTE] compare it to real life, dude. the outcome of someone getting punched isn't random, so it shouldn't be in the game. However, at a long enough range, a real burst-fire weapon's bullets will spray and potentially miss their mark. it's random in real life, so why not in halo? [Edited on 06.21.2008 8:18 PM PDT]

  • Personally, I prefer Halo 3's BR to the Halo 2: more realistic to actual physics. I know you get a lot of flak from the same types of people who complained about the pistol change between Halo 1 and 2, but congrats to you guys on this one. That being said, another update where you managed to turn little tidbits of information and turn them into a story. . . are you chanelling Frankie?

Why is it okay for the BR to be inherently random, when it isn't okay for the melee system to be random? Heck, why not make the entire game based off of an RNG (random number generator) like WoW?   • Re: the weekly update. The in depth look at the Br with functions and purpose was very well done. I think that it’s balance with other weapons in the game are just about right. I do not have any problems with the spread of bullets, or the fact that you have to lead your shoots, or slightly less auto- aim. The H3 BR takes more skill to use then the H2 BR, b/c of these 3 things. I think that these 3 things is why there is more skill in H3 as a whole. However, the skill level in short range combat is lacking, and furthermore—not interesting. Some things that I think that could improve game play, and make it more fun are the following. -much less auto- aim in melees, and different melee damage due to player speed and/ or jumping. -Slightly faster reloads and weapon switching. I’m sure you guys have considered the following, and have your reasons for not changing or tweaking them. I understand that any game is delicate balance between fun and completive. As for what I would like to see in the future in H3 are more maps, suited for 4v4 and 2v2, that play fast. Cold Storage looks amazing, and one of my friends was at SD and said that it’s nothing short of impressive. Anyways I would like to thank you guys for all your hard work with the game, and understand that maybe changing in game mechanics isn’t realistic. But one thing I know you could do is — give us a new forge canvas with alien objects, and lots of them
