This is truly despicable. It'd have been one thing if he asked more questions up front and turned them down, but 15 minutes into the funeral to just up and walk off? Messed up, man, messed up.

2 RepliesThat's just wrong. I understand it being against his beliefs but isn't the whole idea behind christianity that you love others as you love yourself and to forgive people for their sins? I understand that he might not agree with how she lived her life but she had just DIED. Her family and friends were grieving. Even if he didn't agree he should have gone through with it. Even if she did 'sin' God forgives doesn't he?

YOURE RIGHT. IT IS TERRIBLE THAT HE LEFT. ACTUALLY, HE SHOULD MOURN FOR HER BEFORE HE MOUNS FOR A CHRISTIAN. WHY MOURN FOR SOMEONE GOING TO LIVE WITH GOD BEFORE SOMEONE WHO IS NOW LOST FOREVER?

That sucks

2 Replies>Doesn't tell pastor she was gay >Refuses to not display images Christians deem sinful >Topkek That's like taking a picture of Mohammad to a Mosque and being upset with the reaction.

7 RepliesEdited by Kekyoin's Underwater Donut: 1/18/2015 7:39:04 AMJust give her a viking funeral. Vikings weren't really all that discriminate about these sorts of things. Put her on a wooden ship with all of her booty and shoot fire-tipped arrows at it after pushing it out to sea. Problem solved. Vikings didn't care what sexual orientation you had as long as you married and had children.
Plus it would be fricken BADASS!
This is truly despicable. It'd have been one thing if he asked more questions up front and turned them down, but 15 minutes into the funeral to just up and walk off? Messed up, man, messed up.
The article states that 15 minutes into the memorial, they could still continue the service, however, two pictures would have to be taken down; family disagreed and took the body elsewhere. It wasn't even the family priest, pastor or spiritual counselor...they chose that particular church due to it's location. I'm sorry, but that's a bit foolish to voluntarily choose to have a memorial at a church that preaches from a book that condemns Gay society; if the deceased is Gay, and family wants to hang up photos of women kissing each other, you don't go to a traditionalist church...that's simple common sense. Honestly almost sounds like a publicity stunt researching how it went down; it's a good thing this happened in America, due to the fact that there are some places in this loving world of ours that would have jailed the surviving mate, assuming that they were not put to death. I'm hoping that she lived a happy, full life, I truly do. I sincerely believe that if the family would have done a bit more research and asked the church one simple question, this whole display wouldn't have occurred. The world is not a perfect place, and this event shouldn't really surprise anyone based on the location. The memorial should have been hosted at a location that was spiritually open to all lifestyles and practices; it is sad that the family chose the location that they did.

Faith in humanity: lost

Ok the "Pastor" knew beforehand she was a lesbian because of the pictures they submitted for the slide show. They claim they lost the those pictures for the slide show before the funeral. They asked them to remove certain pictures after they seen the pictures the day of the funeral. The family would not. Understandable they paid for the venue and didn't want to minimize her life. Understandable right? The "Pastor" also has a right to not proceed to promote homosexualality through her ceremony. He believes it to be a sin. He doesn't want to go to hell. Understandable right? Well it isn't understandable he knew she was a lesbian and should not had agreed to the ceremony. Look if you don't agree with the lifestyle you should never consider even remotely doing a funeral for a homosexual. It just doesn't make sense.

1 ReplyScientifically being gay doesnt help our survival but the human race is thriving with over 7 billion and million of orphans who want parents so it is illogical to stop people being gay if that is how they are this sort of thing is despicable they have the same rights as you they are not inhuman

What a dick. Not a real pastor.

I'm so glad he was able to do the right thing, even if it was a few minutes late

Well society I have two little words to describe what I think of you after reading this -blam!- You Now that my swearing is out of the way honestly who goes to a funeral and then leaves over sexual orientation. I mean does it really matter of the persons dead and even then I don't see anything wrong with homosexuality and in general even if it's against religion cant you stop for an hour to respect the dead. Dear god I'm losing faith in humanity by the day
-
Ok that's screwed up. You just don't do that. I mean seriously what the -blam!- is wrong with people.

1 ReplyTo everyone quoting the Old Testament, isn't the whole point of the New Testament that God made a new covenant with man?

5 RepliesThe real question is how does that work? *Funeral Procession* "And now a moment of silence" *Quiet voice in the back* "She was gayyyyyy" *Pastor walks off*

29 RepliesEdited by Jones Burr: 1/17/2015 2:16:17 AMShould have stayed and instead of the usual funeral preaching just went on about how she'd burn in hell. For all those who bitch about religion being forced on them seem to have no problem forcing themselves on a religion.
