Best Gun for Atheon?
I got icebreaker today ( don't hate ) I was wondering if it was the best? Leave comments of what you think the best gun for atheon is!
P.S. Doing theon later if anyone has a CP Hmu

I prefer to run vision of confluence (a true oracle killer), icebreaker (massive crit damage on Atheon, less than gjallarhorn per shot, but no risk of pushing the relic holder or blowing yourself up when a teammate jumps at the same time in front of you), and a void launcher to help with the Minotaur in the Venus portal.

6 RepliesIcebreaker helps for oracles cause sometimes you get returned shots. For atheon icebreaker is a staple along with black hammer. You can never go wrong. Personally I swear by black hammer and super good advice. This past week I've carried a SGA into hard atheon groups and they're all like "wth SGA?" Then I tell them "trust me, I'll solo your oracles." Every time they're shocked at how fast the oracles die. Then black hammer takes out atheon. Still, icebreaker is a great fun for atheon. Can't go wrong. As for the best? There's competition.

The obvious choice is Ghorn, but Black Hammer, Ice Breaker, and SUROS Regime are all beastly.

VoC, black hammer, and gjallarhorn for sure. Fatebringer isnt too good against oracles if you get ported.

I get 20,000 a shot (with WoL) with Blackhammer, no reloading gets me about 12 shots that's 240,000 damage each port. Man the Vault of glass was the shit.

At lvl 32 with maxed icebreaker and weapons of light you do over 19k damage per shot with icebreaker. Just fyi

Personal preference really, Icebreaker, black hammer or both good choices. You have to hit critical shots with BH and IB Regens ammo so if your not as accurate go with IB. They slowed the regen time however so it's not as good as it once was. My personal load out is Fatebringer, Black Hammer and my G-Unit. Yes people cry about he is moving I can't hit him but g-horn absolutely wrecks Atheon. 4 rockets takes half his health. And that's just me using it. If two or three teammates have it also. Atheon will be down on first teleport.

Depends on the character. I use Epilogue on my Warlock, Voice on my Hunter, and Fatebringer on my Titan. Gjallarjorn is the obvious heavy choice. Just don't jump middle with everyone else. Clear the last of the supplicants and have at it with Atheon.

2 RepliesEdited by Th3Element05: 1/17/2015 1:44:31 AMI use Ice Breaker primarily, but its clip runs out after about 8 shots, then I switch to Corrective Measure (or another MG, or Vision of Confluence.) Once my MG needs to reload, Ice Breaker has regened a few rounds and I finish up with a few more Ice Breaker shots before Time's Vengeance is over.

Black Hammer. Higher crit damage, can fire from the beginning of times vengeance until it ends without needing to switch weapons or wait for regen.

I'd say a maxed out Corrective Measure or Zombie Apocalypse. Really any maxed legendary/exotic heavy machine gun with a large clip. I had a team of 5 inside of the bubble that aimed at his weak point with only heavy machine guns and killed him on the first round.

I'd join up! But I don't have the check point. And I'm more than likely not getting on tonight... And when it's fully maxed, I would argue it's the best. Although I don't have black hammer... I think black hammer could be better, if you chain crit over and over with a weapons of light.

Ice breaker is good for atheon. Gjallarhorn is quicker. Ice breaker > gjallarhorn in this situation cuz well ammo synth have a 5 min cooldown
