IceBreaker? Seriously Xur?
No, seriously. What the literal -blam!-... He sells Ice Breaker on Week 7, and now again on week 19? (Maybe this is week 18?)
Why? Why why why? I literally have been playing for ~6 hours a day every day since release. I not once ever got an Ice Breaker or Gjallarhorn. Until the day before yesterday, when a Legendary Engram ended up being the Ice Breaker.
But now it doesn't even matter, I feel like all that excitement was short lived and Xur selling one of the most sought after PvE weapons in the game just lessens the experience as a whole...
All I can say for sure, is that Hard CE better be HARD. If we can cheese it the way everyone cheesed normal, I don't think I can keep playing this game anymore.
I've been pretty loyal thus far, but today was the icing on the cake.
Edit: Clearly everyone seems to think I'm "crying about Xur". If you don't have anything to add, and are just here to berate me with insults and senseless arguing, leave. I didn't force you to read this.

2 RepliesI agree having one of the best PvE weapons for sale kind of ruins it. Also I have not owned the Ice Breaker before Zur started selling it, but the fact that he is selling it makes the weapon loose it's prestige. I would much rather just get it off of a drop of raid or nightfall strike. People might just think, "just don't buy it off Zur", but if that was the case I would just be the only one who doesn't have it.

I think he must be selling it for the benefit of people who don't have a raid team. When using the forum to find a group to play with, ice breakers are a "must" apparently, it wouldn't surprise me next week if the ghorn was available to buy.

4 RepliesThe excitement is always short lived it's the anticipation and thrill of getting it that's exciting. I for one want to be judged based on my play style... Timing, placement, strategy... Than just a gun. If a bunch of people having it upsets you than prior your worth was simply your ability to use a rare gun.

If all you dim-witted, short-sighted clowns would kindly toss your phones into the closest large body of water, or break your sausage finger so you may no longer type...the forum would appreciate it.

Note: This is not my idea. I can't remember the original poster, but I really like this idea and would like to see it seed. Xur sells a dull grey version of exotics. When you think about it, this makes more sense than him running around with millions of original Icebreakers. Instead, Xur sells a functionally equal carbon copy of the "real" exotics. What do you think? --------------------------------------------------- Edit: To people asking "why does it matter?" I think it matters. I'm less excited about an exotic drop that Xur has sold. The allure of exotic weapons is in their performance, but there is something to be said for their rarity. People should have access to all the weapons from a performance standpoint, but the rarity factor keeps the game interesting. Having a dull grey icebreaker is perfect for people who just want it as an effective weapon. However, finding an exotic (being blessed by RNGesus) should feel like an event, like "you got the genuine article". Edit 2: Just to be absolutely clear, these carbon copy Exotics would preform exactly like the originals, they would only [i]look[/i] different. Edit 3: This idea preserves the "lore" behind these exotic weapons. Take the Ice Breaker; This gun is supposedly rare because only a few were made before it was decided that they were to dangerous to mass produce. If that was true why does Xur have millions of them? I think it makes more sense that the 9 have a few of these exotics that they're carbon copying and having Xur sell. Just an idea guys! Best of luck out there.
