Ice breaker or Blackhammer
So now we have had the ice breaker from xur, those of us lucky to have the ice breaker and the blackhammer what do you think is better? I personally think the blackhammer is a hell of a lot better, the only things I like personally about the icebreaker is the sound and the ammo regeneration, but still I prefer blackhammer.
[b]edit:[/b] I honestly think the blackhammer is better (personal opinion) but I am surprised that people say icebreaker, yes it's situational dependant I agree, but has everyone that's voted definitely got both the blackhammer and the ice breaker?

I prefer my blackhammer for running strikes etc, it is like having unlimited ammo and no reload, however icebreaker in other situations will top the blackhammer, ive got gally and hoc maxed aswell so luckily i can just switch between the 2 setups whenever i need to

They're both good. The icebreaker is more friendly to less skilled players and skilled players alike, however, a Black Hammer can put out much more damage in a very quickly, if in the hands of a skilled player.

Don't have the black hammer, so I could not say... I have seen people use it, and from what I gather it is decent as long as you can get the rapid headshots in succession - might be difficult to pull off in PvP with so much going on, or in lower level PvE areas where enemies die too quickly. Honestly, I like my IB - is the primary exotic I run just because I like the fact I never have to worry about special weapon ammo with it.

It depends on which rocket launcher you have to go with it black hammer and Gjallarhorn are a good combo or icebreaker and HOC

In a perfect world both, that way you can run Hunger of Crota or Gjallerhorn and still have all your bases covered. For primaries FateBringer and Mida MultiTool If I had all six of those weapons I'd be in heaven. A legendary and an exotic per slot would be fantastic I just need Fatebringer and blackHammer to make this dream a reality :-) VOC would be a good alternative too Fatebringer for me, as would some of the new CE hard mode primaries but I'm thinking I need these to get there (~.•) Anyone who really digs sniper rifles should be aiming to get Icebringer, BlackHammer and Patience&Time.

Icebreaker for conventional use and blackhammer for boss fight.

Ice breaker is way more versatile. Black hammer is great for big, mostly stationary bosses, but otherwise you're going to be reloading every 5 seconds.

For boss fights I use the black hammer. For all other missions I use Icebreaker when I need a sniper.

Both. They serve different purposes. Black Hammer is a boss or stationary ultra/major weapons. Ice Breaker for everything else and for regen of special ammo when synth is on cool down.

Carry both as the Ice Breaker refills your BlackHammer ammo.

Icebreaker is better due to usefulness against any mob, black hammer beats IB against any bigger enemy though.

Both. It 's situational. But since I have my BH maxed I hardly use IB anymore. Also it goes perfect with my favourite loadout: Fatebringer Black Hammer Gjallarhorn.

Also when new DLCs come out and the weapons damage numbers are raised again IB will always be kept up to par because it's exotic while BH will be left behind and will eventually become irrelevant.

Depends on the situation. For most strike bosses & Atheon ill use Black Hammer (does a ridiculous amount of damage to Atheon). Hit those precision shots you never have to reload or wait for ammo, its just constant shots, you are literally "poppin shots off" lol. I only use Icebreaker for the boomers at Crota. Two head shots their down, regen some ammo, go again. OR on my second character just to rank it up.

Blackhammer is better if you can get the perk off with precision shots. This would also free up an exotic weapon slot for you. Ice Breaker is a good weapon, Blackhammer instant ammo in the mag perk makes it better because you also don't have to wait for ammo to slowly fill.
