Explain to me how you "earned" Icebreaker
I got ice breaker a couple weeks back from the nightfall and it's maxed out now. I love this weapon. It's fantastic. However, it wasn't earned. Nothing given out by RNG is earned. To say that you grinded nightfalls/ raids for X amount of time "earned" the ice breaker is like saying those people with .6 KDS in crucible earned their exotic drops. No one earns shit when it comes to RNG. To say you earned a weapon, you would have to have overcome some difficult task, not a slightly above average task over and over again. So stop whining about how you're no longer special for owning a rare weapon. You didn't earn shit

I bought from xur. I was unfortunately unable to find it with either one of my lvl 31's

I got two from nightfall via RNG and buy the third with Xûr. I don't earn anything.

I got mine from the first nightfall available and the first I ever played. By that time My level was not yet high enough( 27) so 2 friends carried me through and one already had this amazing gun. The full NF I said I really wanted that gun of his and in the end I did after only a handful of mob kills and multiple deaths. So far for [i]earning[/i] a gun. The second and third I bought from Xur 2 days ago :)

I did earn mine. I don't want to go into too much detail but I wake up having nightmares about it and no amount of scrubbing makes me feel clean.

2 RepliesI fully agree. RNG does not constitute as "earning." You got lucky, hurray for you. By this "earning" logic. A homeless person (by choice) finds a couple dollars, plays the lottery, and wins. So they earned that then right? Silly entitled children. Preach on OP, I'm on your side of this for sure.

Got my first as a drop from cryptarch after attaining rank 50. Got the 2nd 2 days later from the nightfall Got my 3rd from Xur. Outside of murmur every other item in Destiny is random. Only raid gear post cheese fixes need any skill to attain.

The only guaranteed reward you get is the xp buff. At the end RNGesus spins a wheel and gives you a token prize just for showing up. Other than being present RNG DOES NOT factor in player participation or skill. You can hide in the corner while your teammates do all the work and still get an exotic. BTW, a question for you "earners". Do you do the weekly? Do you buy exotic shards and trade in your 1.0 exotics for the 2.0 versions? Look at the weekly. Your reward is 9 strange coins which you can save up and buy exotics from Xur. In this situation you decide what exotic you trade them for. Yeah you may have to wait until he has want you want. RNG drops are more of a handout than Xur. If you're going to throw tantrums and hate "Xurners" then your anger is focused on the wrong place. Blame Bungie for implementing RNG or even yourselves for grinding the nightfall week after week hoping to win the lottery, when you could do the weekly, save up coins and when Xur has the gear you want after nightfall gave you the bird for the umpteenth time you can get it. Heck, you can still say you "earned" it when you put so much time and effort grinding. Also, a question for you "earners". Do you buy exotic shards and upgrade your 1.0 exotics for the 2.0 versions?

Finally! I have like 3 ice breakers (I'm a bad sniper tho :P) and the forums are all crying! I got my first when I was a level 22 doing iron banner! I GOT LIKE 2 KILLS! THATS NOT EARNING IT! I DIDN'T DESERVE! BUT RNGesus looked down on me and was forgiving for my sins and bestowed upon me ice breaker. So stop moaning and start praying

Got my first one Tuesday from the nightfall an had more kills than anyone else so I guess that's "earning" it LOL and this morning I bought two more. Most useful weapon in the game IMO
