Reason why the Necrochasm is not *directly* obtained in the Hard Crota's End Raid?
How to obtain the Necrochasm:
Obtain Husk of the Pit by killing a Blade of Crota (low drop rate)
Use it and Kill more than 500 Hive with it
Reach Eris Rank 3
Buy the upgrade material
Upgrade the Eidolon Ally to the final slot
Wait for Crota to drop the Crux of Crota
I have a feeling Bungie did this to prevent people cheesing the Raid and walking away with an Exotic without a challenge, as what happened with the Vex Mythoclast.
Agree or disagree?
Regardless, it is a pretty cool way to get Exotics.

I like the idea, it's sort of like an exotic bounty. My only issue is how heavily it's tied into RNG RNG to get the gun to drop (tiny chance), and then even more RNG waiting for the crux to drop. By the end I feel like I've earned my gun (not in the earned vs xurned sense) and feel like having a tiny chance for the last part is a bit of a jerk move. Much preferred Thorn's last step. Yeah the strike sucks, but if you beat it the gun is yours. You don't have to kill Xyor over and over and over hoping for it.

I think it's just a cool concept to instead of instantly getting a awesome fun you level it up and it grows stronger giving it more of a challenge

They wanted to you to put more effort in attaining it then just killing one boss over and over. Alot of mmo's are doing this, like WoW for example.
