A long time ago in a tower not so far away, on a night not too different from this, everyone's favorite Noodleface did something that is almost unimaginable now:
He sold Gally.
And he should do it again.
Now let me preface this by saying I have the Gjallahorn. I'm not "begging for it to be handed to me on a silver platter". I got it from the week 9 Nightfall (Ta'arc). Now with that being said I see no reason for him not to sell it. If they took it out of his loot table, then they should put it back in. It was allegedly removed because it made really quick work of Atheon. I can understand why they would remove it when the VoG was the central raid, but now we have Crota. So even if everyone and their mom is able to obliterate Atheon (and other VoG raid bosses for that matter), it won't matter, because now the best gear in the game comes from other sources. I fail to see how it will "break" Crota's end. Sure it drops Crota's shield fast, but so do countless other weapons. The easiest part of killing Crota is getting his shield down. The only other boss in Crota's End raid is Ir Yut, and she is already very easy to kill (one of my friends got her down to 20% health with nothing but a 248 Swarm).
The VoG is no longer the most challenging PvE event in Destiny, nor does it reward the best gear. So why does it matter if we all blow through it with Gjallahorn?
As for PvP, Truth is a much better alternative, Gally isn't OP by any stretch.

1 ReplyYup. I have played since the very, very beginning and overlooked it the first time (bought armour instead, doh!). I have bought very exotic ever since for fear of repeating my previous oversight. I would like the Ghorn, but have been unlucky so far. Xur levels out the terribad luck I have with RNG. The last 4 purple engrams I have found all turned into shards and energy... Wow!
