Am I GUARANTEED to get a Vex Mytloclast when I kill Atheon (Hard mode)?
I am planning to go raiding soon. Then try hard after. Just asking if the raid hard would be worth it when getting this beauty :P

It's different for everyone. I was lucky enough to get mine within my first 6 victories but my buddy has literally run the VoG hundreds of times and just recently gotten one to drop. Of course most runs didn't drop because he had already received his loot drops, but he's been through and helped others through more than anyone else I've met. Don't take it personally, my buddy is a great player and deserved it long ago. It's not a test of your skill getting it to drop. Pure RNG...

It's random. I got mine after my 4th or 5th Atheon kill. If all you want is the Vex, just do Atheon checkpoints.

Did the vog three time yesterday saw the last word, suros, hard light and ghorn drop. Plus vex x2. Even if you don't get an exotic fate bringer is one of the best guns in the game. Also pradeyths revenge and corrective measure are absolute beasts in the crucible. The VoG is always worth it IMO.

5 RepliesEdited by Raider TCK: 1/15/2015 11:44:13 PMNope. Chances of getting one are about 7%. However it's more than worth it. The fatebringer which only drops on hard has a chance to drop. And so does praetorian foil which is the best fusion rifle in the game. Oh and beat normal mode before you even try hard. If you go in on hard and don't know what your doing you will get slaughtered. And when your team realised they bought a noob in on hard they will kick you. You mentioned you were going to do normal first. Good do that. Do it 3-4 times at least. Learn ALL the rolls. Use the relic. Find a good team that will explain clearly what to do. A raid is soooooo much more than a long strike. There are dozens of mechanics that you will need to learn. Teamplay, co ordination and communication are vital.

2 RepliesDid hard mode last night with a Team of 5. I was 5 of 5 on the player list and when we were about to kill Atheon a 6th person mysteriously logs in, I'm sure his buddy told him to jump in. He joins in right as we finished Atgein and got the vex. Didn't help with the fight or even fire a single shot. I will hopefully get it sooner or later.

Got my 4th today. Became an exotic shard before my friends even knew what had dropped for them.

You will get a vex every single time you complete the hard raid, its a 100% drop rate, because you know why make the only raid exclusive exotic hard to get?
