Am I GUARANTEED to get a Vex Mytloclast when I kill Atheon (Hard mode)?
I am planning to go raiding soon. Then try hard after. Just asking if the raid hard would be worth it when getting this beauty :P

Nope. I got it my first run. I have friends who have been running it 3 times a week for 3 months now and still have not gotten it. It's about luck.

Yes you are guaranteed to receive a vex. Best thing is to join seasoned veterans who have done the raid at least 24 times and have yet to drop the vex. Be sures to suck the whole time and be dead when atheon dies. You will drop the vex and everyone else will drop disappointment. (Took me 3 raids to get vex got Gjallarhorn on 2nd attempt ;) )

3 RepliesNo not at all. Doesn't mean you wont' get it though. I took a friend on his first VoG ever last weekend. He got both Gjallarhorn and Vex. Luckiest first raid ever I would think.

I got mine on my first hard mode run. Other people have been running hard mode since the start and still don't have it. RNG baby.

Whatever you do... DO NOT take your current weapon set up into that fight. Just some advice.

No you do not get the vex Mythoclast just cause you beat the raid on hard. It is a random drop. You must do the raid on hard 3-6 times for a great chance

No. Nothing in this game is guaranteed. It's all random. But defeating atheon is the only time where you have a chance at getting that gun.
