Forbes magazine most disappointing games of 2014
So according to Forbes, destiny is the most disappointing game of 2014. DISCUSS!
Edit: Hearing in other comments that destiny is the most disappointing game on multiple lists! How's it feel, bungie?

I'm not sure what "Most Disappointing game of 2014" Destiny didn't make it on, let alone steal top spot! They should also be rewarded for things like: "Worst Patch Times," "We break things because we can," and "Screw the social features, we have a contract!"

Look at my hours played. Is the game fun lol yea, is it disappointing? Absolutely. Is it fun playing the game with the best next gen gunplay? Yea. It's it fun basically only playing a beta? Absolutely. I love the game. But was expecting a lot more an I guess the reason I still play is that I hope it will get better.... I assume the 10mill + players also feel this way. But bungie/activision don't care tho... They getting the numbers..

I'm having fun and met some very cool people along the way. While Destiny could have been more, I think it was a pretty decent attempt at a hybrid MMO shooter. My only real complaint is with bugs in raids. Bungie needs to pay at least as much attention to broken mechanics as they do cheese exploits. They start doing that and I'll be that much happier.

the game is ok, but the advertisement campaign was borderline lies and cheating the story a bit.. Not to mention you can tell the game was made with no passion and it is all about making money with it.. Installments of dlc etc over the next year to collect more money... It is a alright game.. It lacks allot of promise from the hype so I can see why it is disappointing for many me as well.. Only those that lowered their standards for this game really love it...

2 RepliesI've been gaming for just under 30 years. The amount of time I put in this game proves that it's far from disappointing. Sure it's loot system isn't as good as Diablo. But I take shooting guns in first person over left clicking any day

Don't get me wrong I like destiny, but it was definitely overhyped. I feel myself losing interests like I did with GW2, if my friends didn't play I wouldn't even have made it this far. With that being said its still the best online multiplayer the ps4 has to offer.

The only 2 reviews that said WOW. 1. Penny Arcade but the dude wants to write for games so go figure. 2. PSN.. Sony dumped a ton of money into promoting this game so yeah.. no bias there.

1 ReplyGotta love personal opinions. The writer of this article is an idiot. Every single game listed he over hyped it for himself. You should be going into every game with zero expectations, and either you like it or you don't. Everyone that hyped this game up to be the best game in history failed only themselves. I went in expecting NOTHING, and destiny has sucked me in more than any game in recent memory. IF YOU DONT LIKE THE GAME DON'T PLAY IT. STAYING ON THE FORUMS MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE A BUTT HURT LITTLE BITCH.

Watch Dogs is the most disappointing game. That doesn't mean Destiny is not a disappointment though.

1 ReplyHype wise it probably is. I dunno if every body remembers how hyped destiny was. I sill immensely enjoyed the game (check my playtime), but it didn't live up to the hype. I don't think any other game had so much to live up to so its hard to crucify Bungie for this.

1 ReplyI'd say AC Unity was more disappointing seeing how it came out as a buggy unplayable mess. The MCC was also pretty dissapointing seeing how its multiplayer was (and remains to be) broken. Destiny was just a little over hyped by Bungie and the gaming community, I myself was dissapointed how the world wasn't really open and the RNG based rewards. That being said Destiny still worked out the gate without problems unlike so many AAA titles that launched this year.

Unfortunately I think it was a weak year for games. Trying to work on 4 consoles might be hard for developers. I wasn't into destiny for the early hype. Just picked it up when it was released. I have not been disappointed at all. It is great. Just a bitter community that gets it listed. Enough angry posts online is enough for pseudo-news list reporting to make something. I don't know what Forbes knows about gaming.

I love the feel of this game. The RNG system is my favorite troll and always makes me laugh, but story wise it's very disappointing. But I love playing with my friends, that's what keeps me coming back to it.

A harsh review. I've gotten tons of great hours out of this game and I don't see it letting up. Mainly I play crucible but I also love to raid. My friends (there exactly 6 of us) play pretty much every night and have a blast. If people don't like this game I obviously suggest you play something that you enjoy. If I didn't enjoy it, I wouldn't play. And I wouldn't come here and complain about it :/
