• This game was a bad business action from bungie. They just got to greedy and I hope they pay the price.

  • Not sure if I've commented on this thread before, but Destiny definitely had a negative impact on my opinion of Bungie. As a decade+ long fan of Halo, and a member of the B.net community for 8 years now, Bungie used to do no wrong for me. I'd purchased everything they've sold aside from the Halo 3 Legendary edition (broke college kids can't afford that!). If Bungie made it, I was buying, and I enjoyed it. Destiny has changed that. It has been a major disappointment relative to what I hoped the franchise would be and what I know they're capable of. Every misstep (the Activision contract and it's following exclusivity stupidity) and game failure (seriously, what is this story and RNG is the best they can come up with) has burned through a decade of goodwill. It's a bummer, but I'm tired of trying to see Destiny for what it could be rather than what it is. Too many problems to reconcile to think it will get better.

  • To come from such a successful story like halo to the grindy repetitive destiny it's negative for me I was expecting so much more like an actual storyline for a start a lot about destiny that's frustrates me I haven't got the effort to type it up sorry bungie but you dissapointed me with this one

I have watched Bungie grow from a card-table selling floppy disks of Minator at MacWorld to the monster we see today. The soft-spot my son and I have for Halo has grown cold in the tepid wane Light of the Traveler. There was some true genre-creating and inspired game-play done by the earlier crews that I fear is lacking now. I prefer to be upbeat and constructive, but will say it seems to me that the crew on today is eating a lot of free lunches paid for by the goodwill people have for those founders. Those guys would not have watered-down the experience as Activision demands. Wolves will probably be the game we thought we all were buying last year. Bungie needs a Steve Jobs character walking around with white gloves demanding perfection. I remain hopeful and will hang around this space opera until the fat lady sings.

      • Bungie continues to not get it. Our last "thupdate", what a stupid name, is just another reflection of the decline that which is Bungie. We get a list of alpha/beta/release bug/game fixes that are prefaced with a disclaimer of "there's a strong possibility none of this will make it". Some of these issues are so old their from alpha and we're stairing down the release of the 2nd dlc, which I might add we still don't even have a hard set release date. And the smarmy "see we're reading feedback" attitude for alpha fixes is just mind blowing. The point is that the update cycle is so out of proportion for the content cycle that an issue that pops up today could potentially take a year to fix. Destiny will have long since been depreciated by the next disc release. And it's back to repeating that cycle.

      • Negative. Bungie out out a good game and then messed everything up. I don't recall any video game who ever took out half their pvp content for no reason and called them "events". They bit off more than they could chew, back pedaled right before launch saying its a "free roam FPS" after saying for a year that it would include a ton of RPG and MMO features to make it a unique game. The economy sucks, the drop system is broken, the raids are glitched and they do nothing to fix it. The last part is what really bothers me.

The way they go about fixing things negatively impacts my opinion. The game they made for me however makes me like them. I have to vote Neutral.

      • I can't say bungie is totally at fault. They made a great, tight shooter. The gameplay itself is fun. But ppl forget Activision came and butchered them. But bungie is taking all the heat. My golden gun is looking at Activision. They're the real destroyer of this game.

      • Destiny was their first go at something like this, so I'm going to cut them some slack for that, but even the most die hard Bungie fan has to admit that this is a serious downgrade from Halo. I do feel bad for them as people though, it would suck to be Deej and have to get on and deal with the hate and tastelessness of butthurt children every day. But they could still be doing more to communicate what they can and can't do, and that they're listening to us as gamers and supporters of Destiny.

        • Negative. Don't release a "storyline" with hardly any actual character development or anything. It's robotic and dull and I hate how lazy it is.

          • I'm indifferent. I thought the Halo series was really overrated to begin with, so I wasn't expecting too much from Bungie here. It's a lot of what I thought it would be; gorgeously rendered and insanely tight gunplay. That's where my compliments end though. From the first trailer I saw I said "It's looks like a Halo reskin." Now that I've played it, I know it's just a Halo reskin. There is almost nothing original about this game. You honestly could have called it Halo 5 and no Xbox player would bat an eye, and would eat up the new class additions to the Spartan's ranks.

          • No not as a company. I'm guilty of being negative towards this game out of frustrations from multiple sources, RNG, Raid bugs an so forth. Down right butt hurt at times. However I also like lots of things about this game. I like to keep an open mind knowing that this was their first journey into this kind of game, could things be better? Yes. I'm waiting to see where they are headed with it, they have a huge amount of feedback from the community both good and bad. Give them time to learn from this and I expect or hope that the next will be better. Time will tell.

          • I've been a long time Bungie fan, and have played countless hours on Halo, And games alike. Bungie cannot fix everything we complain about fast, they try at least, to fix all are needs. But when people say shotguns need to be nerfed, and others say they are OP what do you think Bungie is thinking? They cannot please everyone, they try to please the majority

          • I was introduced to gaming through Halo and was super excited to hear that they would be making a new innovative game, Destiny. I'm not entirely disappointed and still love bungie, but I believe they still have much work to do.

Bungie couldn't promise everything they wanted to do with Halo. So the outcome of Destiny wasn't a suprise for me. I was expecting how Destiny came out. If Bungie is good at one thing it's talking. And they were talking A LOT about Destiny pre-release. The project sounded overambitious, was overhyped. Exactly was Bungie was always doing. For Halo it somehow worked but for Destiny a game which was suppposed to be huuuuuge and bigger than anything before (all Halo Reach maps, lol, what a comparison from Bungie *smh*)....well I never believed that. Both games/series are good enough for me to keep me entertained. I loved the Bungie Halos for what they were in the past and I like Destiny for what it is (with many room for improvements) cauz if I learned one thing from Bungie its not listening to their pre-release hype machine....

Well I started playing Bungie games when I was like 7, played through Marathon, Marathon 2, Marathon Infinity, Myth TFL, Myth 2 SB, Oni, Halo 1 2 3... so they have been nothing short of perfect for me. That is a ridiculous line of games to release, as they were all just amazing. I always figure a Bungie game will be something special now. Destiny is a great game. It's a really good game. But for some reason, many of us were able to dream bigger than Bungie on this one. And that's why I said "negative". We were all able to come up with something bigger in our minds when Bungie showed us their ideas, and their final release was not what we all expected, although still a good game. I hope they can correct the mistakes with Destiny and give us the game we all aspired for. It's still possible for them to put right what has been done wrong, although I lose hope as time goes on...

I never played the old halo but I heard good things about it and so I thought the developers of halo would be NEW AND INNOVATIVE, like with regenerative shielding in halo 2 that changed the FPS genre from med-packs but instead they have just put a cut-down World of Warcraft on a console and added a multiplayer with a ridiculously small skill-gap as everyone gets free kills from supers and rockets and has OHK shotguns. Crucible is more nooby than cod multiplayer. Also in the original advertising destiny seemed the the game and it seemed cool and new but it was all lies and false advertising and bungie was a trusted developer that we all trusted and they abused that trust and let us down, like 343 with the master chief collection not working. Wow I sound like bdobbins. Edit: I also forgot they are making us buy a yearly game with comet dlc.
