Jesus was named a deity by Constantine during his rule. God is. God is never what man depicts it to be.

I'm sure the deification occurred before Constantine.
-
It didn't. Rome is the reason why people believe in Jesus.
-
I'm sure my early Christianity timeline is just off.
-
I'd swear there were sects prior to Rome deifying Christ. Doesn't matter.
-
It wasn't prevalent until Constantine made it the primary deity. And it was all because of this vision he had while he was at war. People around Rome secretly worshiped Christ because of pagan laws, but it wasn't a full deity until Rome.

History is nice. More people should be inclined to educate themselves on the matters of history.

The world would be a better place...or we are destined to repeat it. Religion is an archaic source for false intangible sources of emotional solace. Life is infinite. Christianity teaches people that they have one life only, here on planet Earth, and that you better shape up or you're going to Hell. It's a perfect source for control and fear. Break on through.

Yes. Although there are some theoretical instances in physics that supports a "God" in the 11th dimension(known as time). Not to mention the Book of Urantia has some interesting points to make that also correlates with some previous discoveries. Regardless, in my opinion, Christianity has a slightly skewed perception on things through vagueness. One could interpret the King James bible in thousands of various ways. That being said, meditation is actually extremely healthy for your body, and creates altered volumes of tissue in some areas of the brain that correspond to diminished anxiety, in addition to increased activity from the temporoparietal junction, which is associated with empathy. So being spiritual has it's definite benefits.

Simply believing in something because it was indoctrinated to you by your parents with some dude wearing a fancy dress pouring water over you isn't spirituality. It's tradition.

Edited by root_it: 1/15/2015 4:16:31 AMI am really befuddled with your statement. Where is this statement derived from? My accusations of meditation stem from the research conducted by Antoine Lutz, and Richard J. Davidson. I do, however, agree with you in regards to tradition.

It's an overall statement or thought I have on baptisms. Nobody is on a path when an infant is baptized. It's indoctrinated by the parents, thus stabilizing tradition. Meditation comes from within. The inner self. It connects your body with your mind through total awareness. I agree with you on meditation.
-
Ah yes. I understand now. I agree. One cannot comprehend the ethnics behind baptism at such a young age anyway.
-
It's derived from me. It's my thought.
-
There is no spirituality in religion. Only politics.

Time is the 4th dimension

Sorry I misread your post. Ignore this please
