So guys i just wanted to talk to you about the secret spots on every strike. Do you think that they are there on purpose? Because bungie developers play this game too dont you think that if they could they would make easy glitches so they can easily beat the strike? They probably thought we wouldn't find them. I mean seriously there is an easy way to beat every boss on every strike!!!
Devils lair: the window where you can just walk through
Phogoth: the room where you spawn wait for shrieker to despawn then all witches despawn
Archon priest: under the deck or in the rocks
The Nexus: dont jump down and snipe him or the wall glitch or behind the big pillar thing
Sebrus vae: the ramp or lamp
Omnigul: the room
Dont you think theyre here for a reason cuz they would've patched them already.
Edit 1: 20 comments pretty good start bumping plz

1 ReplyExcept standing in the room on Phogoth makes the fight infinitely harder.

Yea I definitely do. Could you imagine trying to do the nightfall a with lightswitch on. One melee and you dead if you're a 30.
-
Most of them yes. Some, maybe not, but you can't play out every scenario when doing the testing.
-
Most of them are there because honestly bungie knows some of this could be difficult and some people could use a little breather in between
-
I think most of them are purposefully there to give you an area to "hide" if you are really struggling As for the archon priest this has been patched because EVERYONE was using it all the time and never actually leaving the spot, I still like the strike though and think it is one of the better ones imo

Edited by The1Herb: 1/17/2015 1:08:15 PMStanding in a room/spot where I can't get shot is called using cover. Legitimate tactic. Why else would they be there? Just like in the vault of glass, they never patched the templar/oracles "cheesing" where you snipe from up top. Why not? Because it's not cheesing. It's using your environment and surroundings to take cover

Once you get the Black Hammer, all it takes for you to beat the strike is the guy sniping, and the other two guarding him to prevent him being shot/killed.

The same kind of stuff existed in Halo. The game would be impossible without it.

1 ReplyWith the exception of the window spot on Sepiks, I think they were all intentional, including the one they patched on the Archon Priest. They are all so blatantly obvious there's no way they could have been missed before release.

1 ReplyYep. It's called the Anne Frank Incentive

Could you imagine the omnigul strike if you couldn't use that first room for cover?! I wouldn't even attempt that nightfall lmao.

3 RepliesI kind of treat it like a Megaman game. "Guardian equips 'under ramp shield'! Rockets McDickface now deals less damage!" Part of the fun is figuring out which power works on which boss... Mostly I don't think they have patched them because they would be cutting out a large portion of the game for the Solo players. (Like me!) There is already the Raid which is the pinnacle of Team play and (supposedly) unable to Solo. Completely take away my ability to Solo the Nightfalls / Weeklys and there isn't much left from a PvE to do for the Solo player. I think they had to patch the Archon Priest platform because that made you literally invincible. Nothing could hit you so there was zero chance of death. Most of the other spots you listed there is at least something that could kill you, requires some skill to dodge or the boss moves out of the field of view forcing you out of hiding.

Probably unintentional...but they probably have't fixed most of them because Nightfall would be crazy without some safer spots.

As mentioned below I don't think all are intentional in any way like the Archon Priest platform which was patched. I just think that Bungie has what, 50 testers maybe? I am really unsure, just throwing out a number but lets use that as an example. 50 testers with a sole intention of breaking a game before it releases is nothing compared to the millions of people that find things by chance and want to claim "first" at something. My thoughts are: Phogoth: I felt like the door to shrieker room was supposed to shut once all players were in the room but with the current state of AFKers the strike would never get finished unless they were teleported into the room. I think they are taking the lesser of two evils there. The Nexus: This one baffles me. The ledge is a good spot if you take down the Vex spawn behind you but the ledge with the wall allows you to solo a nightfall so that one is shocking to not have seen it fixed yet. Omnigul: I don't think that room is much of a cheese spot necessarliy which is probably why they make Omnigul hide behind those pillars so much and have the Thrall spawn behind you. You cant sit back and snipe from 100+ yards away like Archon and you occasionally have to get in her grill to lay some damage. I think Omnigul is an example of Bungie learning from other strikes. Sebrus Vae: This one is similiar to Nexus. You could stay in entry doorway and just kill the guy that spawns but the fact that you can hit him from that spot under the ramp still is baffling. Devils lair: I am actually not familiar with that one. Where is that at? The strike is too easy I think to worry about cheese spots as long as everyone stays out of that damn room. I am sure Bungie has a list of all known bugs and puts a priority level on them based on severity as well as resources needed to fix it. Fixing strikes that are pretty easy to begin with don't seem to be a high priority.

4 RepliesThey have patched some of them... Such as underneath the platform on the archon priest. So they're obviously not intentional. It's just coding error
