Rage, rage against the grinding of the light!

Do not go gentle into that good night Destiny is probably the most frustrating loot based game I've ever played. You grind for hour upon hour, repeating the same old content, and get greens and blues for your trouble. I enjoy the shooting, but the game urgently needs improvement in two areas: 1) more playable content to add variety and spice to the grind; 2) a more rewarding loot system to feel that you actually gain something for the amount of time invested in the game. Do not go gentle into that good night, Guardians should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the grinding of the light. Objections & Answers 1] 'Shut up Meg! All you play is PvP. Go play CoD or something! Destiny is not for you' The PvP is a great aspect of the game and enjoyable. Why would Bungie have included this if they wanted players to go to CoD instead? The shooting and movement is much preferable to any of the CoD games. I've never been much of a CoD fan. Smelly fish has never appealed to me. 2] 'You've put a ton of hours into this game for someone who doesn't like it' This only makes me more qualified to express my opinion of the game (duh!). Only those who have put the hours in know what the game is like. I enjoy the strikes and PvP, but feel the game needs more. Anyone can see that there is glaring lack of content in Destiny which makes the grind a mundane and miserable process at times. 0_o ... that's my face after hours of grinding. 3] 'You have adequate gear. Stop complaining!' I do have adequate gear, but I want variety, choice, customisation. Who is ever happy with 'the satisfactory'? What about 'becoming legend'? It takes literally ages for me even to get a flipping shard! The RNG gods are monstrous! 4] 'Your expectations are too high' Yours are too low. I was simply expecting more purple loot to drop from lvl 28 onwards. What the hell is the point in consistently giving high level players greens and blues. It was bound to frustrate them. I see the CryptFart's evil face in my dreams. 5] 'Oh! There's another Destiny hater' Nope. Love the game. Destiny is an awesome game in so many ways. I enjoy playing it very much. However, it lacks volume with respect to playable content and this makes the grind unbearable at times, and it lacks a decent RNG for a shooter. Most of the reviews take issues with these aspects of the game (Heck! Crota's Scrota even thinks so), and so I am not alone in thinking this. 6] 'Destiny clearly isn't the game for you' Destiny is my kind of game in so many ways. I loved Sci Fi games like StarWars Battlefront (Destiny reminds me of the epic fun I had on that game as a teenager) and Mass Effect was one of my favourite games. I mean, shooting aliens in space is always gonna be awesome! Skyrim and other RPGs/MMOs have given me hours of fun. Halo with friends forged some of the best times I ever had gaming. Destiny has so many elements from these games which should make my experience enjoyable ... it is just missing variety, playable content, and customisation (most high level guardians look identical ... 'We are the Speaker's clones. We all do the same thing over and over and wear the same clothes. Diversity is EVIL'). To be honest, it feels like the game was brought out without being fully ready for the consumer. FAQs (Requested by Jack0O7) 1] 'Is this related to interstellar?' Nope. It is related to Dylan Thomas. Never heard about the film till people starting commenting and saying that the original Dylan Thomas poem was quoted therein. You learn something new every day. 2] 'Is there an FAQs space?' Yes. This is it. ;-) BUMP and LIKE if you agree!

The real root of the problem is that there just isn't a lot of loot in the table. You find your temporary purple gear to get you through the raid from vendors/drops, then you grind for raid gear... and... that's it. All that's left is fighting RNG for specific exotics and legendary guns with great perk rolls. Then, the expansion rolls around, the damage/level cap rises, all your gear is obsolete, you need to wait for RNG to give Xur the upgrades you need for your exotics, and the cycle repeats itself every 3 months. That's the game.
