Strange Coins-Ways To Get Them
Alright, I really need a little help on this one.
I am hoping to get some Exotic gear from Xûr this weekend and need to know ways to get, and potentially farm Strange Coins.
I know that the Weekly Challenge is a good way but don't know any other good ways.
Please Help!!

First public event each day gives a chance for a coin, and chest farming yields one occasionally. The weekly is a lock, obviously. Other than that, whatever activity gives you the most rewards gives the best chances to get random coins (for me it's engram farming on Mars but ymmv). And this may sound obvious, but not buying something from Xûr every week works too (if the armour piece he's selling for your class doesn't suit your build, leave it. Really want a Regime but he's selling Hard Light? Walk away.)

Make three characters get them all to level 30 and get 27 coins a week. Also farm the vanguard playlist on all three characters and all those engrams should give you 5-10 more coins. Plenty for a gun and a piece of armor.

Blue engrams I find are the easiest aside from the weekly strike

Run 3 characters thru the weekly. You'll have 27 strange coins. 18 if you get your 2nd character leveled up

Hey, yes the weekly is the best way, but just grind the vanguard strikes, possibly the roc one and keep collecting blue/purple engrams and then turn them in to the cryptarch. Every now and then he'll give you strange coin instead of a item. Hope this helps.
