How do you counter the Warlock Nova Bomb?
If I see the animation coming, I sprint forward towards the person, slide, and face the warlock and try to take him down. Works often. Sometimes it damages me, so in that case I can take cover. How do you guys counter it? Just one on one.
EDIT: Embarrasingly, in a game tonight in Rusted Lands, I stood on the ground at the silo and a Warlock was at the other end shooting at me. He jumped into the air and launched his Nova Bomb. HE WAS AT THE OTHER END OF THE MAP! I easily could have ducked behind the silo, ran forward, slid under the stairs. But no, I'm so used to letting it happen to me...I let it happen to me. I told my team, "I don't deserve to finish this match."

1 ReplyI hate warlocks. One time I was playing crucible and this dude was using no land beyond. ( so was I ) he would take shots completely (took about 4 shots) missing me at close range , so I decide to dance in place and give him a free shot. Dude popped back out and -blam!-ing nova bombed me. Shit was not cool. Funny. But not cool.

I am ussually keep a distance between me and teammates so I'm ussually that guy who watches his whole team get novaed then shoot the guy in face as he runs full speed at B lol

Blink straight up or backwards. sometimes up and towards the warlock. Going towards him can sometimes result in killing both of you.

I just keep my distance. I'm not a close range fighter. But recently i've been enjoying shoulder charging, courtesy of my titan. If you are unfortunate enough to see the nova bomb animation coming at you, you have about 2 seconds to take him/her down. Fusion rifles work best.

Fusion rifle, rocket launcher, golden gun, sholder charge, run up and punch him or fusion/magnetic grenade (may end up as a postmortem)

I got very lucky last night. I activated BD, saw a Warlock start floating up, I blinked upwards, slashed in the air and a final blink landed my behind him and his bomb splashed harmlessly 15 yards away.

I find respawning to be quite effective

If im lucky he only has vortex and i probably wont die if my ward blocks it. If he has the purple balls... one ball kills the bubble and the other two kill me, tough shit xD How do i counter? Hope he misses, lol.

2 RepliesI'm a Warlock and I remember laughing my blam!- off after i nova bombed. There were 4 people huddled in the next room, so I jumped and nova bombed and it hit the top of the doorway ffs.. Lol

The best way to use nova bomb, is to see what point all of the enemies are. Launch the nova bomb up in the air like an artillery, and hope it hits the flag point.

You will never kill a warlock with skull of dire ahmkara. The best bet is to take cover or if you have golden gun up that works.

If the guy has Angry Magic enabled (like I do) this won´t work. I reccomend jumpingbackwards or sideways to have a bigger chanche to avoid the blast. Come to think about it, this only works in open maps. In smaller ones your strategy probably works better
