The only issue with the stranger is her rifle.
If you read the description it has technology that hasn't been made yet suggesting that she is from the future.

Look up fate of all fools. Tell me what it looks like after you do. Wouldnt it be rather dick of bungie to say. HEY. we hoped you all kept the strangers rifle. It UPGRADES with the new patch...hence a way to get people to replay the game. AGAIN
