I did it, but who really cares? Haha. By the time you reach 4000 you have enough shards for 32 anyway so no need for the exchange feature.

Not really I mean you can still exchange for your other characters

I wouldn't waste the idols and glimmer. Plenty of shards available between now and the hard raid. Just end up with hundreds like ascendent.
