Something I thought of...what do you guys think?
I was thinking if there was a feature to "lock" armor and weapons in your inventory so that when u get a bunch of junk stuff and deleting, you don't accidentally delete something you need...this has happened to me before and i'm sure it has happened to others

I got 2 Fatebringers for beating the Templar and went to dismantle one cause I already had a fully upgraded Fatebringer and i dismantled the fully upgraded one by accident. It was my fault though cause I wasn't watching what I was doing and was rushing. It takes long to dismantle gun just in case that happens you can stop it. I just laughed and called myself a dumbass for doing it. Everyone in my raid group laughed at me too. It was a stupid thing to do but it was no problem upgrading another one it doesn't take long.

Only happens to the scrub duckets of destiny. You realize you have to hold a button down a good 6 seconds and stare at the screen while your doing it.
-
1 ReplyNot a bad idea. Last thing I want to do is dismantle my ice breaker and ghorn cause I'm wasted.
-
Maybe not locking it but you have 24h or X hours to get back the item from say podtmaster. Then again there current stat makes you think before dismatel/delete you items.
-
1 ReplyThis or a simple Undo action would be a nice fail safe. I see many saying this is stupid and unnecessary but it doesn't hurt or affect anyone who doesn't think they need it, yet it could be extremely helpful to those who are maybe a little trigger happy or simply made a mistake.
-
Or you could just pay attention.
-
They should do something about that
-
I'm usually pretty careful but this has happened to me once
-
Wow. We do not need this. Use your eyes. Useless features bring more bugs. Also we don't need more coddeling.
-
It's happened to me but it was with a rare engram so not a big deal.
-
I wouldn't mind that. I made a post wayyyy back in the day saying we need a * button similar to Borderlands.
-
I think this is one of the best ideas so far.
-
2 RepliesNeeds to be added. A friend of mine thought he was dismantling his fourth Hawkmoon, and he ended up deleting his Mythoclast. Felt so bad.
-
1 ReplyI've accidentally deleted my Praetorian Foil... It wasn't a big loss, but whatever. Locking items would be a nice feature, but it's unnecessary.
-
5 Repliesthey just need to get rid of holding in X for dismantles and come up w/ something more secure.
-
dunno, the rarer the item the longer you need to hold delete so it shouldn't really be a problem. only time I've had something like this is when I have spare helmets to switch my exotic helmets out for to level up other exotic armours,
-
Don't get blammed up and delete stuff, wait till you're sober
-
I think this is a good idea. If you have young children, ya know. If you get drunk one day, ya know. If you have a "friend" who... Ya know.
-
6 Repliesif your dumb enough to watch an item delete for like 10 seconds, you deserve to lose it. its not instant, and breaking down exotics are really slow.
-
accidentally erased the VoG intellect helm for Hunter when it mattered... smh
-
It doesn't just instantly delete you have to hold the button down so I don't find this to be useful. Just pay attention.
-
1 ReplyOr you could just... you know... actually pay attention when dismantle. Such a simple solution cant believe you didnt think of it
-
Why not have a message saying "Are you sure you want to delete/dismantle (item name here), Yes/No". Giving people a second look or chance before confirming it.
-
This pops up quite often and is always met with the same response, which I shall get out of the way. I don't mean to be rude, but that's how it's going to come across. Simply put, pay attention when you delete stuff. I've deleted hundreds of greens and blues and have never deleted a purple or yellow. I've never even almost done it. Nobody I speak to in my clan have ever done it either. Just double check the colour of it before it goes. It really doesn't need a lock. If you delete a purple in error, you weren't paying attention. Not the game's fault I'm afraid.
-
great idea, or a message on exotic/legendary even could make it an optional system for people who want to opt out
-
4 RepliesThis is so stupid, just pay attention. It takes longer to delete an item the rarer it is anyway. Are you telling me you "accidentally" held X over an exotic for like 10 seconds?
