Blackhammer vs Icebreaker which one is better?
My friends and I are debating on what is better. Which sniper is better ?

Black hammer and gjally or Ice breaker and hunger of crota/ truth

Icebreaker is more dependable if you're not a very good sniper but black hammer is better if you are good at hitting crit spots quickly and repeatedly

Have both, I was an avid ice breaker user. It was my go to gun. Then after getting Black hammer it made doing repetitive roc strikes so.much.fun!!!! Rockets McDickface? Gets cut down like a hot knife through butter. Tank before him? Dead quicker than you can say "black hammer time" Archon Priest, Phogoth, and Sepiks Prime you can precision shot stun lock them. Seriously you time ya shots they ain't gonna be able to do crap and all the other 2 people need to do is clear ads. Nexus Mind, have a semi decent rocket launcher to take out the minotaur up on cliff+Black hammer on Nexus=Good game. Atheon, your IB crits hard for 6 maybe 7 shots? I get 9-12 shots before 3seconds hit and I gotta leave central platform. I don't even equip IB in Oracle phase anymore I just use VoC to snipe em. The only time I get my Dusty IB out now is I'd I'm on Knight/Boomer duty on Crota. And that's the only part imo that ammo regen outshines the benefits of BH. #BlackHammerisLife

1 ReplyIB will always be better, as long as it remains upgradeable. Unless, of course, a newer better exotic sniper is released. Hopefully the next DLC has better weapons than this one did.

1 ReplyBlack hammer only has unlimited ammo if you keep hitting the Crit spot...i believe it also has a higher impact Icebreaker has unlimited no matter what...icebreaker also has the highest range Anyone who says 'just keep shooting the Crit spot'.....I say 'Minotaur' Given either sniper rifle, the black hammer still relies on those green ammo drops where icebreaker just regenerates ammo

It's situational. On the tank on sepiks prime,sepiks prime, tank on rockets mcdickface use black hammer. Works amazingly. Maybe have to reload one to three times. Any moving boss or in general use the ice breaker

Vs Vex: Icebreaker. Vs almost anything else: Black Hammer. Bosses are the exception, where most are easy to crit and some are quite a pain. Icebreaker also wins in crowd control, thanks to its explosive perk.

IB will always be. Next DLC BH will start being down on damage. BH is a great fun but it's just not the same...

6 RepliesBlack Hammer is great, but it's very situational in my opinion; where as Ice Breaker is pretty versatile and useful in any situation you need a sniper for. Since everyone knows IB by this point I'll give my pros and cons for BH though to help any one else make a judgement: + Legendary, frees up an exotic slot. + Second highest impact in class. + White Nail wrecks stationary bosses. + No waiting for ammo if White Nail doesn't proc, simply pick up more or reload. - Mulligan never procs when you want it to. - 3 shots per mag makes missing a crit painful. - Hive Disruptor currently breaks White Nail. - Slow fire rate.

Ice breaker is definitely better. Black hammer is a good sniper, but it's just the same as other snipers until a boss fight. It's overrated

1 ReplyI carry the BH a lot more often then the IB! Main reason being the BH allows you to also carry the Horn!
